Read back. Another poster clearly stated that he owned 1/100, built in April 1994.

Wih regards to my being 'cocky': with your attitude, you shouldnt expect more experienced members to help you in future.

Yeah, what a stinking attitute to actually take the time to ask and listen about something he's in the dark on and then being greeted by the welcoming respone 'you live and learn don't you?' .

Back to topic, the initial run of the first sti's was a run of 100 in each model, the second run of the origional sti's was out of 200 in each model.

Now both of these were called version 1, but they were separate runs buy the seem of things. Version 2 came later and as far as I know were not numbered.

If you need any other help just ask, thankfully there are quite a few people on here who who know far more than I and wont want to give a headmasters boxxxxking along the way.

There wasnt a Version 1 STI. Altered production cars were built in 1994 and 1995: the 1994 cars and the 1995 cars were completely different. Subaru only adopted a numbering system with the introduction of the MY96 STI V2 in Autumn 1995.

'...you live and learn...' was not my original reply, as you well know. It was in response to the OPs reply contradicting my first helpful post.

fair point simon, but il help you out on this one. your first responce (as a neutral) was a bit "hard" and very abrupt. i think youll agree on this one. newbies especially may find this intimidating (almost **** like). im not for one minute incinuating this is what your like simon, and im also not looking for an argument.... im really too tired today for a physcological debate. just putting a view across. i personally know how you mean to put across things, and your knowledge is generally un-parallelled (sp??), but some (especially newbies) may find it arrogance psonified (again sp??).

god, i really couldnt be arsed typing that

Having been in Japan for over 3 years now, my Japanese is pretty good now. I found out, that contrary to what people have been saying, the original STi models were called "the STi Version".

Although they were not called "Version 1", they were still called "The STi Version"

Lets try get some more pics of these original "STi versions"

My mates one is still alive, after a crash, a blown head gasket and 180,000kms

Also, found one in RED :O

Doesn't the first STI reside with David at API?

When I bought my RA, we had a chat about it.

I have Number 1 of 100 sitting here at APi in Warwickshire.

It is undergoing a full bare body up rebuild that has taken over 18 months to do so far. Mostly to undo all the horrors that have been done to it over the years. We took nearly 40Kg's of Clifford intellistart and tracker out of it. there wasn't a single void space that didn't have something clifford hidden in it.

We have taken every not and bolts off the car and cleaned and derusted everything; rebuilt the engine, box, diff, hubs, brakes, steering, EVERYTHING. It now has the option Speedline 5 spokers x 16" back on instead of some chavvy 18 inch things that looked there was a crab attached to every wheel.

Once done it will be for sale at a ridiculous price reflecting it's rarity and quality.

David APi
