The best Christmas present I had as a kid was probably the Vic-20 complete with Radar Rat Race and Omega Race

The best Christmas present I've ever had though was a Scalextric Subaru Challenge, bought for me by MrsD the first year we moved in together

I occasionally break the Vic-20 out when I'm home, and both the aforementioned games are still cool, especially on a 28" widescreen with surround sound

I have no idea what it was called but it was awesome and felt like you were really driving

My other favourites were Scalectrix, that other track based car game with the yellow plastic track and a lift that took the cars up to the top of three circular bits of track and another toy which was bits of road that you fixed together to make a town. I can't remember what any of them were called as my memory is rubbish and a long, long time has passed since I was a child
You mean one of these

Another memorable one for me was the Action Man Tower. A bright Orange tower with a zip line. I actually found this hidden away in a cupboard before the big day which slightly confused me.

Have to say, even though I had a Dragon 32 computer, all I ever made it do was

10 Goto 20
20 Goto 10

Or something like that.Did they do anything else?

Age 12 got one of these, although not in this sort of condition.

Can't think of a better present I've ever had before or since. Spent all day hammering it round local fields.

Ah, you're thinking of that program that got the PC to display a message on each line of the screen. My local BHS used to keep one of these on display and, as a kid, it was expected, nay, required that whenever it was switched on, you would enter the following code.

10 PRINT "This computer is s*it"
20 GOTO 10
30 RUN

Oh, how I laughed..... until mum caught me and I got a cip around the ear.........

No one has mentioned Vertibird/Chopper Patrol..... A friend had a (now very collectable and expensive) Star Trek version. The Space 1999 Eagle version was the best though.
