I really don't think its using ****** to mean gay, I think it just rhymes with Maggot, she wouldn't call him a homosexual if they were in a Hetero relationship as the song implies. Mr Tatchell needs to get a reality check, its not 1975 any more, most of the population are quite happy with Gay people and he should stop milking the minority policy of being offended and downtrodden, or does being Gay not hold so much appeal if people just aren't bothered anymore ?
A ****** is a Traditional Meatball, a name first coined in the 1800's way before anyone used it in context of a Gay man whci is more a sixties thing, the song seems to be set around the time when the NYPD had a strong Irish immigrant contingent which was around the same time so given the black and white video and general slightly olde worlde vibe from the video I would say the meaning predates the Gay term in sentiment.
So, Gay rights people go away, and the BBC just look at what a pandering joke you have become, prepared to play any old sh1te if its by a black artist as rap is art and all that, misogyny, violence, drugs, sex etc etc is quite acceptable, calling women Ho's (which is short for ***** I believe), glamourising shootings etc.
The BBC needs a serious reality check and to stop trying to be hip and street, its comical.

Its funny how they decide to cencor (and then realise how pathetic they are) yet will play Rap music with some really iffy lyrics about sex, robbery violence, guns and drugs ?
