Cool. That and the dual map would be a blessing. I'll keep my ears to the SN ground for when it arrives.

£150 per 210L drum? That's pretty good - 71p per litre. Mmm - maybe I should run the car on 20% methanol; that way I could save at least £4 per fill compared to V-Power and have fun in the process

That would be me, i buy it off someone who buys it in 205 litre drums and doesn't mind selling small quantities on, i provide my own 25L drums.

Not sure what he's paying for a 205L drum but he's obivously not selling it to me at a loss.

There's a place in Manchester area selling it for £18.50 for 25L pickup only on ebay.

That place does not add vat thats why it is so cheap but if he assumes your using it in your car then will add the vat.

Think you mean fuel duty, VAT is included as it says a "VAT receipt provided"

Don't tell him/them your going to use it as fuel, your planning on making bio-diesel

The duty on road fuel is a very high percentage of the total cost, thats why I only use Methanol for cleaning purposes..... pistons, valves, injectors etc

I did'nt think to try methanol as long as it does no damage to the car...

I have loads of the stuff at my work place. Grade A for analytical use in the labs. Should be as pure as it gets.

I'm sure we pay alot more than that at the lab. Maybe £18 a litre.

The problem as I see it is carrying around 5 or 6 litres of the stuff so you can put it in the tank before you add V Power.

Get yourself a petrol can, it stores 5 litres and when you fill up pour the meth in first and then tank it up.

That's what I'll be doing. I'll premix the methanol with some NF in a 5L petrol can with graduated litre markings so I can top up 'fractions of a tank' if need be

thats what i do (but don't use NF)
I've got a bottle with litre and half litre marks on, and put 1 litre to every 10 litres of fuel, got to be more accurate than just chucking in 5 litres everytime u fill up, plus u don't have to run the car empty which i don't like to do.

Fangoria : Steve : Once the concentration of NF exceeds 3 mls/litre it does not appear to have any beneficial effect so pouring in a full bottle of NF at 300 mls is a bit of a waste.
Carrying around methanol, over 5 litres per tank is a PITA and if you are regularly away from home, even more so.

so putting in one litre of methanol with every ten litres of petrol? not running at 10% then?

No as Harvey said 10:1 is around 9%, when i have it mapped for my new setup in a couple of months i think i'm gonna try 10:1.5 which is around 13% and maybe 2 or 3 ml of NF pure litre of fuel aswell.

Its not that critical, if 1% difference causes an issue then its mapped way too close to the edge !

NF is most reluctant to mix with 100% Methanol, it mixes ok with a petrol/methanol mix though.

so better off with a bigger jerry can with graduated markings.

what is was looking at was to premix a certain amount of v power with the meth & NF to make topping up easier.
