Hello!
I have just sold my 2004 Type 25, and it is a truly impressive car - really quick, excellent handling, especially if based on a JDM import.
However, if you need a car for everyday use, I would hesitate to go for the T25 - in fact, after my own experience I would not actually hesitate, and wouldn't go for it!
My car was pretty unreliable (even if it did go like stink when it went!) - headgasket, (non-standard) turbo cooling hose, burnt exhaust valve, all in 40000 miles over two years. Also, the car consistently used a litre of oil every 250 miles, which was hard to manage to say the least!
On the plus side, hardly any turbo lag, loads of torque, brilliant handling (if a bit hard even with the dampers on soft) and an excellent noise.
For a trackday or weekend toy, I imagine the T25 would be perfect, but I don't think the reliability is up to daily use, and the warranty offered is not all it might appear to be at first sight, as I learned to my cost. I was hoping for a reliable, independent-build factory-level car, rather like an AMG or an Alpina, but the modifications are not, professionally, in that league..

Well all I can say is that after a couple of minor glitches when it was new (alternator failure, batteries in key ring giving up the ghost, both sorted quickly by Iain) mine has been totally reliable (touching wood now
).
I did have some oil seals done at the last service, but I use my car for my daily commute (but not at the rate of 20,000 miles per year) and it uses virtually no oil now the seals are done.
As a daily driver with such capabilities I really can't think what I could replace it with, and believe me I've tried! The suspension is just fine too - perhaps coming from a STi IV gave me an idea of what the ride would be like

There's nowt wrong with it mate... just not for me. I actually looked at a WR1 before buying my D... excellent test drive but the colour was niggling at me the whole time. The nail in the coffin was when the missus said it was pretty for an Impreza
Let's face it the RB320 is mean as **** and comes better equipped... if you can afford it then it's a no brainer... unless as I said you want an "extreme" Impreza.

Nick - Mine was standard on my car, but you can now get them from Subaru parts.
Unfortunately I think you would have to fill holes, but any dealership should be able to confirm

Paid 21K for my late Blob Eye 05 reg machine, have done around 1000 miles this year in it uses a little oil but hardly worth mensioning, for sheer pace it is scary and it aint that bad on fuel either, being driven normal road speeds 26 mpg not uncommon!

i love that car....

This is the updated version that Subaru drove sub 8minutes around the famous Nurburgring and the most focused car to come from the factory. This model has all the usual Spec C specification but also features; RA-R 6-pot brake callipers, 18” White STI Alloy Wheels, STI Optional rear spoiler in Black with brake light, Lightweight boot lid, Type RA –R badges, Defi Gauges, STI kick plates, Tinted windows (removable), Subaru Pink upgraded suspension, STI ball jointed rear suspension arms, STI uprated rear anti roll bars, Twin Scroll Turbo with larger factory compressor, Equal length manifold, Driver Controlled Centre Diff (DCCD), Spec C engine oil cooler, Spec C up rated fuel assembly, STI front and rear strut brace, 12 litre water tank, Lightweight Spec C body panels and roof vent, CAT 1 alarm system, RAC Trackstar, Sat Nav, UK Fuel remap and correct Diff settings. This is the Ultimate higher performance version of the Subaru Impreza range.

Being biase the ultimate Hawkeye would be.
1.spec-c type RA (cos I have one)
2.spec-c type RA-R (I would have one now If I haden't paid my morgage off instead)
3.spec-c type 25.(If I drop the lotto tonight).
As for comfort the type Ra is ok never been a passenger in it I just drive it.
