genuinely curious as to why how many bottles of beer someone can consume in a given time frame has led you to want to not venture out.

If people want to do that then that's up to them as long as they aren't causing too much trouble, just these days I'd rather be somewhere else having a nice chat with friends and not getting totally w@nkered.

Getting completely wasted is no different than taking any form of drug.

I find that I enjooy drinking much more now I've turned 30 than I did when I was younger, but I don't go out intending to get bladdered anymore.......it just happens! 
Just kidding: I never really did go out with the intention to get drunk. I don't like being ill.
The last time I got very drunk, someone got some footage of me doing the "can't touch this" dance in a suit! Ok, so it was a Wedding, but still poor form. The person behind the camera and the footage has since mysteriously dissappeared..... loosing the groom so soon after getting married was hard on the bride I'm sure. Pity!

I'm 36 and starting to slow down. Can't do 2 nights in a row anymore. 
I certainly felt it yesterday afternoon after breaking up for Christmas.
I can drink moderately but often get stuck into rounds with guys who drink at a quicker pace so end up knackered.
I don't tend to cause a nuisance and normally go on autopilot after 6 or 7 pints (depending on weather/atmospheric pressure etc) and head home..
Oh well, a good way of saving money.

PS - 2 bottles of Corona and a pint of Carling = £9.45 in my local posh bars. That's a lot of cash for so little. And don't get me started on women with their glasses of wine!

I have to admit, i drink between 2 to 5 bottles of the fine German beer most nights, im not at all blasted, i just enjoy beer, and having some time to myself at the end of a mad day 
I dont really get plastered any more, as i find i am bad for days afterwards, and just prefere a few 4/5 ish in the local on a Sunday night with friends
Having said that, Christmas is coming, so ill be quiet

I'm down to just getting light headed now with a few beers occassionally like tonight. I'm on my Christmas break and have not had beers for a couple of months so bought a crate of stella to polish off over Christmas. I used to get absolutely bladdered regularly with the extreme ending with me in a&e via a police car. My boss who was eneormous could drink 15 pints and still be as sober as when I started which didn't help when it was a case of keeping up Fun at the time going out with work colleagues and drinking so much the next day it was all a blur and all having a laugh at each others expense but wouldn't dream of it now as just doesn't appeal to me. Much prefer just a couple of beers in the evening while in front of the the telly or at dinner. Cheaper, less hassle as don't have to stagger home and don't feel ill the next day 
Fun at the time going out with work colleagues and drinking so much the next day it was all a blur and all having a laugh at each others expense but wouldn't dream of it now as just doesn't appeal to me. AHHHHH the good old Drink..don't get me started on this subject,although u already have..too many stories to tell,crazy times,crazy mates..i dont know how many times in the past i got absolutely wrecked and always said,i aint ever drinking again,no this is it now ladssss th the last time ever..only the next night to be doing it all again..but i think it is a phase you go through.and although i still like to have a drink,i dont get off my head drunk,just merry nicely chilled. it was good though because it wasnt just lads amongst the crowd,there were alot of girl mates aswell,and it just seem to make it more fun.and the girls were always up for it just as much as the guys were,so we all go out in one big group guys and girls and just get hammered,back to a mates house afterwards for more drink music dvds drunken games..Blisssssssss..one drunken time me and my mates ex girlfriend had a good romp upstairs in his house in bed while he was down stairs drunk watching cliffhanger with the rest of them.. i said too much SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I still like to get fairly drunk from time to time at 27, but I tend to know when to stop drinking so as not to get totally wasted and end up with a massive hangover!

I think everyone needs a good drinking bender now and then to clear the system
Me being 40 ish has a bender only every couple of months now and 2 hollidays in a year when i get steaming every night

so what drink does everyone have like,i seem to go through a phase,for example i will drink one brand of drink for so long,then i seem to completley go off it and go to another drink for a few weeks..btw if u like a drink in at home on ocassional nights.was in town today and some guy at work told me to buy this polish beer,its called okocim.but you can only get it from netto stores,so thought id try it and its bloody good stuff.500ml bottle 5.5% 99 penece a bottle.its nice tasting beer.........
