In fairness, the car is probably 100% fine but as there are 000's of Scoobs out there for sale at any one time, you could probably find one which hasn't ever been chipped that ticks all the boxes
Sorry, my post may have misled you.

I meant the original dealer that sold the car new (not the one that is now selling it)

So I've decided to give the car a miss, and continue my search.

There does seem to be few STI's available in the 03-55 plate bracket so I shouldn't have to look too hard...

I'll keep you posted, thanks for the advice

Probably wise. Let's face it, there's always 1000 or so for sale on PH, even more on AT and loads on here. Personally, I think some of the ones on here would be the best option as enthusiasts look after their cars meticulously and mod them well. Use the search options to check out the previous 100 (or more) posts of any seller to get an idea what they're like and how the car may have been cared for. Avoid [very] low post count sellers as they're often just traders chancing a free advert or possibly people hiding something dodgy behind a new username.

Thanks for the tip.

Going to see a MY05 STI (PPP) tomorrow, in silver.

Is there anything I need to be wary of (aside from the usual turbo stuff i.e. blue smoke under load etc)?
