been out and had the wheel off the front O/S.. the lower ball joint was totally dried up, and doesn't seem to have much life in it.. having said that, I couldn't move it with a big pry bar ?
Going to go and get a couple of new ones, just to rule them out.. as I think this will be the cause ! I did grease it all up before putting the wheel back on, and the knocking was not there when I bounced the front end.. so fingers crossed !

update..
Done about 50miles on the freshly greased ball joint, and nothing.. not a creak / knock / rattle.. So, the new ones should be here shortly, and I will fit them later in the week ! Hopefully it will be an easy enough job !
