I had the same done to me recenlty on here. Paid for a item, sent money via post. Seller tells me money has not arrived. However Royal mail tell me the money has been cashed. I have no real proof of whether he got it or not.
But then I find he offers the same item for sale on another forum to someone else, 2 days after I post the money off to him? & he knew it was on its way.
Just goes to show you not always dealing with honest people on here.

people pay for stuff and these scumbags have 2 user accounts and go missing with my money and then come on and give a stupid reply and it just fades away until the next one of us gets ripped off..
Thought this was meant to be a community.. Or that was the idea?

Legacy, if you sent him money what method did you use they all {except cash} leave a paper trail which can be followed and traced tot he cashee, which if whoever cashed the cheque, postal orders, paypal will be recorded and you can start some sort of legal claim to get your money back.
if it was a cheque then contact your bank and mention fraud etc they should help you out and they can trace when / where it was cashed etc.
Also if posted I assume youused recorded delivery to get a sig for receipt?

JOCKC79 - Its very very easy for us to trace peoples money back to your bank account providing they used anything except cash. The best thing to do is to own up, pay people the money back and end it at that. Or you face charges on theft and fraud. Thats 5-7 years with a minimum of 2-3 years. Your choice.
