But they're usually so well behaved.....

That's grasping at straws a bit isn't it?
Here's one for you, and not 100% relevant but close enough, last time I saw a rottie it was in london. A woman was holding on to the lead with two hands and all her strength as the dog barked growled and went for a guy crossing the road. The woman was shouting it to stop and saying 'he's not like this really' the whole time.
If another breed were to do that it hardly puts that innocent pedestrian in the same danger.

By the way, IMO as a rule of thumb you should never have to be in a position where you need to physically restrain your dog, but you should certainly be strong enough to do so if required.
ps - Tiggs, don't be so dramatic.

I wonder how the media will cope the day a heinz57 variety mongrel dog eats a baby alive... Will they get researchers to try to uncover it's family tree in order to hopefully find a "dangerous dogs" gene to pin the blame on?
Based on the fact that there was recently a serial killer from Ipswich, does this mean that everyone from Ipswich is a serial killer?

Talking of the last time of seeing a Rottie, apart from my friends Rottie who passed away at least 12 years ago, I think I have seen one Rottie in that whole time since
Other than that the only Rotties I have seen are the owners dogs on SN, which have only been pictures and not the dogs themselves

LOL
Mark,
You've posted a lot of tosh about dogs in the past (apparently in spite of your showing experience) And I disagree that lurchers are safe enough to be left with kids. But they are your kids, so its your call.

Yes, it was 20 stones wasn't it, only I allowed for a diet after his last slating. Maybe he can confirm if it's the case, if not, well, time's running out.
