Dont knwo whats needed for rallying but I would imagine the cost is similar whatever its based on.

I'm sure Huxley said the £40k Escort, whose value you commentred on was to Gp4 spec, hence his second comment Jacko

Besides I think you'll find most long term owners of Mk2s have modified their cars at least partly along Gp4 lines, especially the track day weapons

Rally cars based on group 4 spec there is a slight difference between road and rally spec

Ballpark prices not cheap crap by the way the good stuff
£10k - £25k plus for a good 2ltr Vaux/duratec/millington etc 250+bhp
£4k + gearbox
£3k atlas back axle
£1.5k dry sump system
£500 fuel system
£2k brakes
£6k -£10k Shell fabbed to group 4 rally spec
Then all the safty bits
Whels and tryes
The list goes on and on

Then you break it then it goes on and on again " as I found out"
