I think people who put Liverpool down are the same people that complain when someone bad mouths a Scooby owner !
Liverpool has its share of idiots and Scallies but the good people well out number the bad.
It won the Capital of Culture for a Reason !!
Its a fantastic City

Off the top of your heads can anyone tell me who was European Capital of Culture in 2007, or who it will be in 2009, up to 2012?
Without Google etc, I dont think anyone could. I think the reason for that is because it means diddly **** to the continent.
It's sweet that Liverpool Council have clung onto it, hyped it and tried to make it into something massive, even dragging the media from around the country/continent and even a channel from the USA to cover tonights opening event...
Still if it helps get the deprived areas out of poverty in some way it cant be a bad thing...
PS... Sonic, not all St Helens chicks are mahoossive
I'll not show Mrs Abdabz to be that post

I was there last year. So unless it's had a massive change in less than 6 months my perception is in date.
I was shocked at just how run-down it was. Mass areas of derelict housing hardly makes it desirable.
It had a backward feel to the it IMO. Not nice and years behind other regenerated northern cities.
The fact it lost almost half its population between 1950 and 2000 with other cities increasing tells its own story.
