Progression is made by compromise. If some of the 2 year olds on this forum realised this, the infraction system would not have been needed in the first place.

This is a forum for impreza 'enthusiasts', not losers that feel big by belittling others over something that they have no interest in.

Agree with a lot of the posts here, and the abuse the infraction system seems to suffer from.

I think the infraction system was set up due to SN being a pretty low grade experience a while ago due to a few individuals spoiling it for everyone. You know the kind - people just trying to get a rise, being rude and antagonistic to people, getting a kick out of strong reactions to their posts/insults and often being foul mouthed, bigoted and making the place look scummy and ruining conversations between normal decent people.

I infracted someone once for blatant racism and that is honestly it on my infraction record. I think it was totally appropriate and what the system was designed for. In the flesh I’d have had a pop at them, so why should they be allowed ‘protection’ here? We are all still part of society here after all and society’s rules of decent behaviour apply (to my mind). Often it isn’t even worth wasting your time posting a reply to these kind of people.

Just apply the ‘man in the street’ rule. If you would be tempted to have a word in the ‘real world’ for someone being out of order or talking to you in a way you don’t stand for away from your keyboard then it follows you can do something about it here. This has nothing to do with people holding different view or opinions to you (maybe people are infracting for this and hence killing the system by its abuse?).

At the end of the day you cant beat proper mod’ing, infracting will always be a poor second, but it HAS cleaned up a lot of the negative stuff that was going on here and on balance made it a better forum and community in my view.
