I started taking EPH25 which is an extremely effective diet drug but has side effects and is a bit dodgy if you have a bad ticker.
I ditched it and just started hammering the gym and going on walks at weekend and changed my diet.
So far i have lost over 2 stone and feel great. I'm still a fat f**k and have a long way to go but i will get there.
Incidentally did you knwo if you build muscle then you will lose fat - How? well if you increase muscle mass then it requires more calories to maintain it, for every pound of extra muscle mass x amount of (not sure of the exact figure) calories so you can consume more or the same and lose weight.

But it's oppisite in dieting, you need to lose slowly about 2 ibs a week otherwise you lose muscle instead, I have six months before my hols so should have plenty of time to trim up me one pack.

Yep, but that is a very slow process depending on how much fat you have. You can only "naturally" gain a few pounds of muscle per month, anything extra is fat. This method is okay if you dont have much fat to lose, but if your like me then its not the best way. Off course the best way for me is a shed load of cardio working at about 70% of max heart rate (which I do and means I am not using all of my muscle energy stores therefore not really wasting them), and then worry about the muscle definition once I have lost a load of body fat (probably maybe a bit more than 16% at present was about that before christmas!!)
Trust me mate if thats the case i'd need the muscle mass of King Kong to burn the fat reserves i have.

Likewise, i go to the gym about two times pw and tbh i feel it's not been that great, but i have put on about 4kg in the last couple of months along with gradually altering my diet like lots of lean protein and keeping complex carbs at a reasonable level.
And it's absolutely killing me, being nearly 34 doesn't help matters so im going to take some epistane and rebound xt/milk thistle for pct possibly some zma along with it hopefully that'll pack on the lean mass i crave or at least enable me to train harder, works a killer atm.
Taking pills is sort of cheating but you have to realise not all large people eat like crap, infact i try to eat damned carefully while all the skinny runts stuff chocolate and not gain a pound.
I did use ephedrine when i was 26/27 and i dropped 3 stone in as many months but i was training like a lunatic for my sins.
Half of my problem nowadays is work, im about 110kg but stocky for it as my job is very intensive on the back/shoulders so there's no going back to the way i was so i thought sod it i'll pack on muscle instead and see where that gets me.
Downside is my thighs are too big for my 38" trousers despite the waist being able to handle 36"
Would explain the trakkies they all wear.
Like someone once said to me, darren why you eat like a rabbit yet still remain a fat c***
Not so much now mind.....

im the same hux, never realy ate a lot (although prob wrong things) i wouldnt class pills as cheating though as the end of the day food today doesnt contains the good stuff that it used to, so i dont see anything wrong with helping your body to behave more efficiently.
now wheres that dnp
now wheres that dnp

Have you tried a low calorie diet, sorry I scanned through the thread.
I have been on LighterLife for 8 weeks, losing 4 stone, and looking good for it if I say so myself. Is was no solid food for 8 weeks.
Last week I spent a week in the Caribbean, and with my new attitude towards food, and reduced and changed intake, I gained a massive 3lb, but that was what I weighed when I got home from the airport, still with breakfast, a Wendy's lunch at the airport, an in flight dinner, and breakfast inside of me.
In my opinion, if you dont address your relationship with food, and start a fresh, when you stop taking the pills or whatever you are considering, you can go right back to where you were.
Magic pills so you can stuff your face AND lose weight....... whats the point?

Yep I said that earlier, they only help if you watch what you eat and just speed up the weight loss process. Unless dnp is consumed in which case you eat what you want and still lose weight (obviously it is toxic and filling your body with cr@p aint exactly good for you either!)

My Missus has me on the weight watchers points plan ( it's a joint effort) I have 28 points a day that includes carbs, protein the lot even having fruit cost's points and a bad **** in the morning if you eat to many.

Fair play mate, what sort of losses are you getting from it?
Is your attitude to food changing at the same time?
I went into M&S today and saw a lovely thai green curry with chicken and on a green salad. For the first time in ages it looked lovely lol. Usually salad is a no no. On holiday, I could not eat enough pineapple, apple and manderines lol
The diet I did/am doing is extreme, but then so are the results. I cant explain how much happier I am now, and getting happier by the day, bring on Florida in June
Jay, sorry mate, must have skimmed over you saying that, but 100% sure about the sentiment there. Unless there is a clinical reason (not being a lazy ****) that you CANT lose weight, I dont see the point.
Personally my level of happiness is broken down like this
30% happy with the loss
30% happy with the improvement in health
40% happy with the lesson I have learnt, and my new approach and attitude to food.

There is no way I could do your veal calf diet as I consider nice food is one of the things worth living for. In fact I made a Thai Green curry last night. Low fat cocount milk, no visible or extra fat anywhere and lean free range chicken breast. Delicious with tons of colourful steamed veg and a little bit of brown rice.
I've had a few of the Reductils, and to be honest they havent enhanced my control over appetite at all. I was so looking forward to that curry an hour before it was ready! They seem to gently increase metabolism from what I feel, and the weightloss continues - 8 lbs down now. If I get that stone off before Feb I'll be well chuffed and then revert to lose a bit more with standard willpower alone.

You have skimmed the thread mate - this is very much not the case. I was about 6 pounds down with diet and excercise alone.

lol I did say I had skimmed it
They are a lose weight pill though, thats pretty clear. My point was, that surely its easier to take control of your intake.
Same as Liposuction, great for those in control, pointless for binge eaters.
The LL diet is not hard at all. After a week of eating foods of my choice, I have slipped straight back into it without a problem.
What sort of foods are you eating on a day to day basis. I too reached a plateau fast with normal diet and exercise alone. But LL has definatly made the difference.
A stone for men in the first week is average, then slowing to 8-10lbs for the next few weeks etc.
The idea is (for me atleast) is to use the abstainance to change my way of thinking with food. On holiday eating was through choice, but not desire.
The end game is to lose the weight, get in control of eating habits, THEN happily return to normal eating 8 weeks of reducing intake is hardly torture.
I would rather that, than taking drugs to do it. Not knocking your decision. Each to their own
How long has the 8lbs taken to go?
#107
I lost 6 lbs in 9 days and have lost a further couple of pounds in 3 days (two days of them on the pills). It'll be interesting to see where I am in a week

A stone in a week That is starvation dieting and will probably do more harm than good as your metabolism panics and shuts down! Std wisdom says 2lbs a week max is best I think.

Some agree, some disagree, but its averaged at 7lb a week. No harm here. Healthier, fitter, livelier than I have been for years
If my metabolism had shut down, I would have put on SHED loads of weight last week on holiday, eating large every day..... but I didnt
2lb a week is during standard food intake, rather than Ketosis. Some frown on it, others promote it. Proper topic of debate for the medical community.
Better than filling yourself full of drugs (kiddin)
Best of luck with your loss dude, and keep us in the loop of how progress is going.

Its actually the body shedding excess water and going into Ketosis

To be quite honest mate the weight loss is slowing down to average 2ib a week but I am thinking off skimming the weight watchers and going back on my gym protein diet because I dont have the energy to cycle 20 miles to work when Iam not in the scoob, Basically I allow 40g of fat (not sat) and eat a **** load of protein about 120g but I need to train in the gym to stop it turning into fat, because basically Iam getting bored with counting all the time I feel like a big tart when Iam in asda and I say to her dont pick that up it;s got over 7g of sat fat in it.

Looks like there is 3 of us at least then lol.
Nice once you understand what your actually reading though. Some of it is proper trickery of wording.
Diesel, all the best mate. The diet im doing is nothing like the Atkins I am pleased to say, as that really didnt agree with me, and was the same time I suffered Gout for the first time lol. That ended well.
Look forward to hearing your results Hope they are good.
Killer, I hear ya mate, thats what I hate about conventional diets. With LL everything you need is in a foodpack. Im sure if you need a heavier carb load, once you have worked out what your using you could load up for the trip on the bike.
On 3-4 foodpacks a day (approx 500 calories) I can do about 6-9 miles walking with the dog. With a Malamute thats NOT a leisurely stroll lol. And still have more energy to do 20-30 mins on the exercise bike, and function normally all day
I guess at the end of the day we are all different, and its all about what works for YOU
BUT... the main concern is changing your ways, and making sure you are not just starting the whole cycle again. Emptying the body, just to fill it with crap all over again. Hence LL works for me, abstainance gives me a clean sheet. And with being on holiday and able to eat ANYTHING, it seems to have worked, with my choices being much better
Weighed in this morning, 48 hours now since I left Dom Republic, and im back to the weight I was when I left for there over a week ago. So a week of eating = NO weight gain

Update - as per Snazy request :
Stone gone
Pills? We'll I didnt take then for 10 days when I was away, and that was at an all inclusive half board Bit dissapointed really - I am still a 2 pappadom/ 3 sausage/ 3 fish fingers man (but not all on the same day!)! They didnt reduce my fuel needs by even one low fat sausage at meal times MAYBE they make you feel more satisfied on slightly less food, and less likely to eat more or fail in your diet? But its a big maybe for me - as my willpower on holiday hopefully shows.
I hope I have made a lifestyle change with naturally smaller portions, virtually no chocolate and very few snacks - ohh and less of the divine red wine.
Be great to lose another stone, as I aint miserable on this diet and still enjoy my fave foods. Hope to update that in another 2 months maybe?
D
PS are 'medium' clothes cheaper

Unfortunately i do a physical job, 30 minutes on that diet snaz and my vision ends up blurry, i can't concentrate and i suffer massive headaches, if im not busy i can diet like no tomorrow, but on my job forget it, ive tried it all.
Hence why im trying to build muscle approach, i must admit it is working so as you say it's a case of each to their own.
Trouble is my thighs are now bigger than my waistline lol.
