We Beemers owner own the road - get out my way Scoobyscum!

But in a Scooby I own the road.

And when I'm on a bike I own the road.

And if I'm a pedestrian, get out of my f*cking way motorists and cyclists alike!

Couldn't give a toss if you had 25 Impreza's. The **** that wound me up (read posts) was a BM driver who had the gaul to give me the finger for nearly wiping me out!
Now.......
Engage your brain and read my posts and you will find that at no point were my children going to be exposed to their father being in any physical confrontation.....thats where i put my brain into gear........
Besides i have yet to see a 5' 2" bloke have a go at me

That aside lets have a dig at me not the bmw tit overtaking outside a school in a 30 zone

And for the record i dont even own an Impreza anymore!

I'm sure the tit in question would appreciate your support, unfortunately the parents of the kids at the school where he thought an overtaking stunt in his highly powered BMW was cool might not.

I dont think they are all tossers, there is perhaps an above average percent of the owners that are, there does seem to be a mentality but nowadays it doesnt seem so bad as the tossers who wouldnt have previously be seen dead in an old mans Merc or Audi have now migrated away from BMW since the other manufacturers got a bit more 'thrusty'.

I really abhor anyone who thinks they are better due to having any model of car, we all pay road tax (well most of us) .

I find driving my 3 sideways absolutely everywhere I go prevents people calling me a 3 series driving tosser. 3 series driving hooligan is another matter though

Personally i've found 1 series drivers to be the worse recently.

I think its kinda similar to the 'small aggressive person' mentality that you sometimes see in people. They may be in a small BMW (usually diesel) but they still need to prove something.

Ed, if only the peasants wouldn't insist on using the BMW lane then all this could be avoided. Just stay out of it, you know it makes sense.

Nobody is questioning the stupidity of the driver, but come on, you must know how ridiculous and small-minded you are tying a car to personality or characteristic. It's a lazy, sweeping generalisation, like me saying all scooby drivers are chavs just because most of the people I see driving them these days look like they just nicked it.

It's also like those prats that verbally abuse ferrari or lamborgini drivers because they think they are upper class toffs born with silver spoons who drive them just because they can.

Judging people by what they drive, what they do for a living, what they wear or what colour their skin is all come under the same group of feckwit stupidity in my book.

More valid to judge by how they drive, the way they behave and what their attitude is generally.

Better yet not to judge at all. Unless, of course, you are completely above criticism in every aspect of your life and conduct.

For the record I agree that the BMW driver's behavious, as described, was stupid, selfish, arrogant and dangerous. But that doesn't mean that everyone in a BMW is the same, any more than the fact that the bloke across the way to me with a WRX is a chunky gold jewellery and burberry wearing chav means that everyone else in an Impreza is as well...

One of my colleagues made me smile when I gave him a lift to pick up his Beemer.

Wheras I would say 'I've come to pick up my car' he said 'I've come for my 320'.Just seemed odd.

More importantly, you can't judge anyone on the car they drive as everyone has access to anything now.It could be a highly paid exec or it could be a dustbinman in the beemer.

Having said that,RR sports seem to be driven by unusually small people wo can only just see over the wheel.Don't know why

I'm of the opinion that the original poster is displaying attitudes that probably make him a far worse driver than he could otherwise be and most likely worse than the majority of people who drive BMW cars.

Bearing in mind that i didnt react at the time i dont follow your opinion, after all i drove straight home as normal not like an ****, I dare say some would have gone after him.

Call me old fashioned but i dont like being blamed for something i haven't done, i'm strange like that.

The point i was trying to get accross is mouthy idiots protected by their cars should think twice before abusing a another driver because they havent got a clue who or what they could be dealing with.

Reading some of the posts i'm not alone in my views of BM drivers and a doing a Scoobynet search reveals even more users with similar views and experiences.
Incidently, Volvo drivers used to be held with similar regard amongst the biking community.

Your attitude is poor (you can't wait till you run into him again alone for one thing) though it has to be said not reacting at the time marks you out as the more mature driver.

I agree some 'cage drivers' need a rocket up their behinds in terms of their behaviour but to categorise owners of a particular marque in this way is naieve and ignorant. I put it to you that you're fixated on BMW drivers and that's why you notice their behaviour more. If you had the same problem with VW drivers they would be the worst drivers on the road and so on and so forth.

Bottom line is you need an attitude adjustment, for the sake of your own health if nothing else.

You are aware that you can't change the behaviour of others and that the only variable you can really control is yourself aren't you?

Ah but do the alternators work on them all? Plus if I remember correctly you were quite coy about admitting to driving a Beemer. For the record I agree with Edcase's sentiments.

I like BMW's, its kind of a bit of an old stereotype nowadays, the aggressive and selfish seem to have spread out and nowadays there are far too many BMW's for them all to be like that, most I find just get on with it.

My wife is anti BMW but would have an Audi or a Merc, I personally dont see the difference, she like Saabs though she prefers my old "Utilitarian" one to my new one, she would have a BMW before a Scoob though, she hates them with a passion.

Yup, all alternators and their £20 regulators fully functional

<---that's definetly a BMW driver's smiley

I'm only coy about the 325, because it's quite frankly, pants. But bearing in mind it did orginally replace a Rover, things have to be taken into context

I find it's the Audi A4 S-Line 1.9TDi that has replaced the BMW as the young thrusting sales man's weapon of choice.

I also see a lot of women driving low spec BMW's (318d, 116d ES etc.). Why did they chose these off their co. car list instead of a Mondeo or golf with all the toys? Maybe it was the RWD chassis as they like a bit of wet roundabout fun, surely not just the badge

You must be an autospark There are two 3 series in my drive and at any given time one of them will have an electrical fault of some description. Last 5 series we had decided to put the headlights on main beam and leave them on even when you turned off the lights and removed the keys. It was going to cost about a grand to fix, so I thought it would be easier to drive in the outside lane at 100 MPH all the time. You wouldn't believe the number of scoobs you come up behind who are crawling along in the outside lane at 65, not passing anyone, then move over and speed up when they think someone wants to go faster.

But, like someone else said, how do YOU know what you were dealing with? The other guy sounds like a complete psycho...size means nothing when you are bleeding at the roadside from stab wounds?

As has already been said, the guy was in the wrong, you were right to have a moan, but you lost all sympathy with the BMW-hating and the keyboard warrior stance.

Just IMHO.

I let them past - if they want to get a ban then thats up to them.

TBH i dont think its really a BMW thing, you get it from all sorts of big performance cars - BMW's, Mercs, Audi's - especially the big saloons, Look at the bad press Subarus get ffs - yet through my club i have never met a more considerate bunch of drivers (we just like to make progress)

Incidentally a while back there was a list in a paper/Mag cant remember which where it listed the most arrogant and aggressive drivers cars - no.1 was the Vauxhall Cavalier no.2 was Audi.

At the time i'd just ditched my Cavalier and bought an Audi A6 Quattro
FFS

A girl said to me once - 'what is it with you blokes and cars?' she said 'The bigger and faster the car the smaller the D***'

So i replied 'thats ok i ride a skateboard'

Sorry i'll get me coat.

Like many cars; they do have issues. Just with a BMW, they are more weird and wonderful

Like my boot that randomly pops open as and when it pleases when the doors are left unlocked. (not the switch, nor the remote ). Wouldn't be so bad if the interior lights didn't flatten the battery (they don't time-out ).

In order to keep it shut, I need to do at least 100mph to get enough downforce on the boot lid.
