Peter you are 300% right. What the hell is wrong with people these days?????I always say if you dont have the money to maintain it dont buy it for christ shake. Ok you moan about scoobs what about Porsche? what about really expensive cars? For much less money you buy better performance than a 50K 996!!! Have you thought how much porsche owners pay?? 10 times more on parts and petrol.Personally i got a 94 wrx for £8k last year off a dealer and i have spend another £11K on it. RESULT??For 19K I have one of the fastest cars on the street.THE PLEASURE that you get back is unbelievable.Everybody is looking at my scoob like he saw the devil specially when they hear my loud dump valve blowing at 1.3 bar boost. YOU WANT TO KNOW SOMETHING? THERE IS NO OTHER CAR ON THE STREET FOR 19K which will humiliate a 911 or a F355! which i raced and beat them.Or i was as fast as a BRAND NEW F360!!. The guy had just spend 80 grand to buy that car and he couldnt beat me.He told me: what the hell have you done to your car.How bad was he feeling after that? You should see his face. LEAVE US ALL SCOOBS owners alone and go back to your sh1ty A3's and A4's and skodas and whatever else piece of **** cars you want to drive. Drive your miserable cars and get beaten by a golf GTI and an renault 5 turbo..GET real

You must have a mighty fine Subaru there to beat a F355 and a F360.
I can't imagine doing 185mph in a Subaru.

Cool

If I had a 355 or 360 I would be driving as slowly as I could through town wearing shades and thinking I am cool when in actual fact I would probably look a right tw@t...

Thumbs up

I am lucky in many ways - mine is a company car! - i still get butt-fcuked on the tax mind!

I will buy it off of the company at the end of the year for my other half (yeah, right!) who enjoys driving it as much as i do.

I am not trying to rub anything in i am really glad i do not have to pay for the fuel, ins, sevicing, etc at the moment. as this would make it an expensive motor to run however to put this into context

A few points
Insurance is expensive, yes it is, it is a performance car and sadly scumbags like to take them rather than earn them.
MPG not good - Its a performance car!!!, it goes 0-60 in 5 seconds and onto 150mph i still get between 20-28 average out of mine and enjoy the car.

By comparison My last Vectra 2.0L CD auto only averaged 25mpg!

Build quality - interior - been inside a 911? - acres of black plastic, i did not buy the car for the interior. BTW mine does not squeek.

Exterior Looks great, nothing fallen off, had the bonnet resprayed @ 40K due to stonechips.

Residules in the toilet - nearly all cars are.

Eats tyres - Don't rag it everywhere! - i get around 20K out of F1's still enjoying the car

Face it, it value for money/bang for your buck it is a damn good car, how many 4/5dr cars that you can use everyday can perform the same/better and have a price tag of 21/22K new?

Few cars put that inaine big grin on my face as my Scoob does!

If everything i bought was based on logic rather than emotion i would have an even more boring & sad life.

You are dead a long time enjoy it whilst you got it!

Paul

Cool

Paul,

If mine had been a company car then I would have definitely kept it. I bet the extra tax it is costing each month is nothing compared to how much it cost me to run mine.

For me its just a case of "Can you afford it?" If you can't dont if you can.. do.

I'm with chrisp... what else would you spend ur money on? I think 2weeks holiday for £K's if mad and other expensive hobbies... I've said before and I'll say again
How else would I ENJOY the drive to work?

Completely agree Paul - I get around 20k from my tyres - but still have fun. Get around 26mpg but still have fun (my wifes 2ltr Saab only returned 28mpg).

Bought mine second hand and 12 months old for £15k. I could not be happier.

Had a long drive up the road the other day (from London to Glasgow) as my mate picked up a 12 month old Audi A6 SE 2.4 with all the toys. It was a lovely machine (only cost him £14k) and very very smooth. But once I got back into my MY99 at the airport to drive home, and felt that push when I pulled onto the moterway all thoughts of changing to a 'normal' car faded.

Richard.

I didn't beat the F360 i said i was as fast as the 360 and he couldn't beat me which completely pissed him off..(I was proud anyway). I never said I raced him on the motorway or on a circuit it was a traffic light race up to just about toping up my type R gearbox's 4th gear(Traffic was in front of us)..I think thats pretty good anyway. The 355 I beat him again same senario traffic lights up to 4th gear..Which other car can do that? Maclaren F1? TVR Cerbera? probably-Whats the cost of these cars? ( I guess a lot of money) - My car has massive torque figures of 350LBS/torque.Mind that scooby is lighter than many cars..

Yeah but mind that all that magazine figures of less than 5 second 0-60 is absolutely crap. They 've got a wrx sti less than 5 sec 0-60.Thats bullocks..I had an STI and it couldnt beat an M3 E36 Evo which 0-60 is 5.something...How is that possible? WHen i've seen a type R which claimed to have a 0-60 of 4.5 or something! thats big bullocks when a type R is just as fast as an M3 E36 Evo(I've had the experience of that)-As well as a Mitsubishi EVO 6 claimed to have a 0-60 of 4.4!! bullocks when he couldnt beat my slightly modified(a year ago 300bhp-94WRX).Lastly How can a 280bhp P1 can beat the F-355 where i had a race with one b4 i modify my 94 wrx(it was 300bhp) and a 355 slaughtered me for fun.....Dont believe the figures. To be able for a scooby to compete with the very very fast cars you must spend some serious amount of money

Dont believe the figures thats the whole point
