I was speaking to Andy yesterday and by the sounds of it, the grin factor is still right there

Oh, its his Birthday this weekend so he maybe a bit "meth'd" up himself by this evening

Effects not the same.

So far so good. Still amazed at how silky smooth the engine seems as it revs right up to the red line. Fuel consumption up a small amount when driving hard, but virtually no different when cruising (not often ) Still gets a big thumbs up in my books

60L all told, I doubt you'll get more than 52L on the average fill from empty, but 56 has been known.

so if i had 1/2 tank of v-power, and wanted to run a 10% min of meth, would it be best to put 5L of meth in, then fill the rest of the tank up with v-pwer?

would this give me my 10% mix?

thanks

If it's a 60L tank, your first Meth fill would be 6L of Meth, then top up with VPower. After that, 10% of whatever quantity of VPower to fill up.

If you get it mapped for meth, then you will need to get it re-mapped to not run meth.

from what i read, its a full re-map required to run meth, not a tweak so from that i guess the map will be totally different.

WARNING:
If you are putting nasty stuff in old Lemonade bottles, for God's sake PLEASE make sure there is no way in a million years that kids can get at it.

Also, if you've got a large quantity of chemicals and/or petrol in your garage, your house insurer should know or the house will almost certainly not be insured and given the nature of this stuff, you've increased the risk of a significant fire.

You might also need to have the correct chemical warning signs on the doors for the fire brigade and others to see.

And if the police or insurers find the "pop" bottles in the boot after a serious shunt, you could have similar insurance null and void issues as the house.

I still think this sounds a lot of fun and the original OP was very good, but with something like this, people need to be aware there may be safety implications they should address in good time.

No I don't work for HSE - I'm merely pointing out what any caring parent should do - DON'T PUT NASTY STUFF IN POP BOTTLES - IT CAN KILL CHILDREN.

And if the house goes up in smoke but the insurers don't pay out because you've got a 5, 10 or even 45 gallon barrel of oxygen enriched fuel in your integral garage, getting another 50 bhp out your car won't be much use to your homeless family, [assuming you didn't take the battery out of the smoke alarm so you could listen to Girls Aloud on your MP3 player and they are still alive!] so engage your brain , take some precautions first and enjoy the car second.

Cheers for that noobyscooby. was thinking maybe signs on external shed was in order. for the price of a sign it could cause less damage.
i would have a secure location in boot to store the bottles but probably keep it in a normal 5lt can

think im going to go for it,

any good suppliers? jennychem seems to be choice

It is delivered in 25 litres drums, which are clearly marked by Jennychem with all the relevant info. Personally I use a 5 litre jerry can for storing it in the boot Dave, also makes it easier putting it in the tank.

So whats the realistic cost of running a scoob on methanol then

im building a quick classic atm, its not mapped etc but the power gains from methanol sound interesting - considering maybe running it at 10% mix as said if it doenst cause any damage, keeps things cool with its higher octane and gives power gains such as 23bhp!

methanol is cheaper per litre than the petrol it replaces (as is bioethanol E85)

cheers again Banny.

Going to have a word with the monster about the remap. im running standard internals at moment so prob have to start saving for upgraded internals eventually.

i was running 361/322. now i was going to go 20g route but im thinking i'll get the same gain minus the extra lag.

is 385/340 a realistic figure after meth? what has been everyones gains?

turbo is an MD195S on standard STi8 internals.

gained about 7% peak figures, but the midrange was the big jump.
