I did the same to a Porsche GT3 on the autobahn the other day, but I know that the porsche would get me in the end if he tried and would also keep going happily all day like that whilst my scooby engine would probably melt.

Well done Burnsie, That's what it is all about, just innocent fun.
We do 500 stickers too................................
When l ran an R33 Skyline GTR M3's used to want to play, but soon pretended that they didn't want to, or weren't trying, as l went by and pulled 100 yards in the blink of an eye.
It's only big bikes that will play, mostly and they can always relied upon for a good few miles of fun.
Keep it up, don't let the spoilsports above get to you.

It was a toss up between the Hawkeye and the Monaro for me as I couldn't afford an RS4. My point was I would have the VXR over a classic. I'm not into older cars personally. It was a tough decision between the hawkeye and the VXR but I decided the Monaro just felt too big and heavy.
Still a great car.

I drove said Monaro and thought it was a great car although the handling was erm interesting, the brakes were poor and I felt like I was in a Vectra. The straight line speed and the sound was good though.
It was not until I seriously looked into costs that I realised that brake discs were going every 6000 miles and cost £1200 to replace, the paint had some serious defects, it was flaking around the door handles on an 06 plate, this is a known issue on the Ro'.
Finally I have never, ever met such inept dealers, even the dealers that are apparently qualified to handle and service Monaros, in a nutshell I'd rather chop my old man off than deal with Vauxhall, they are aimless!!
Hence I have a MY07 Sti sat on the drive = correct decision!!

Well, despite my outward distaste of "street racing" I've been subject to the odd lapse myself. One very sweet one involved my old XR4 Sierra turbo, which was very torquey indeed, and a Mondeo V6 driven by an idiot who didn't know how to behave. Sat up my rear in motorway traffic, lights flashing, when I had nowhere to go at all. As soon as the road cleared, I pulled over and let him come alongside, then smiled at the chap's girl as he struggled to overtake. I kept him where he was for a half mile or so, then waved politely and pulled away. Total ***** shrinker, and nice trick if you can do it!
For a proper go, you need a fast B road, and a nutter biker.

I wonder what one could get the (standard) poxhaul to do if they spent the same amount of money on modifications as he did with his (modified) Subaru?

Nope, I only play with other cars on racetracks and airfields. If it was me, you need to goad me, then I would let you take your own bait, then as you zoom off and I'd just carry on cruising to wherever I happened to be going to.
