She gets a 30 minute walk in the morning. At the moment, she is on her own for around 5-6 hours, which is too long. i'm gonna start popping in during the day to break it up for her.
Today she was left in the cage - which has done my nut in all day knowing she was in it. I got back for work and was quite happy TBH. The cage is far bigger than i remember it and takes up 75% of the kitchen so there is a fair bit of room. She'd had a tiny nibble at her bed but that was it. I was expecting total carnage within the confines of the cage, but that was it
. I came in all calm and gave her time on my terms. Took her out for the toilet duties and she did good ![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Gonna take her out for a run soon and let her burn off some steam.
I did pop out of the door for 1 minute to fix the gate and within 30 seconds, she was going mental inside crying away
I think she has this anxiety thing bad - poor little bugger.

Most dogs will be fine in their cage - put a fleece blanket in so they are comfy and they'll be OK. Our border collie has a couple and considers them her territory in the house. She often sleeps in them out of choice during the day, and stores her toys in them and bones etc... She also has a smaller one for travelling in the car and will happily curl up and sleep on journeys.
Even when you train it out of them, dogs just love to chew things, and if they are left along for long periods with nobody to stop them or tell them off, then they will chew. If the only time yours can chew stuff is when you are there, and you tell them off straight away, they will stop doing most of the time.
It does sound like your dog may be upset - puppies chew to soothe their gums when teething, and this can become a sort of security blanket for when they feel upset.
