No, that isn't the solution for Euro MY'01 owners.
Jonno has a Jap WRX STi import, hence he needs to replace like for like, in his case he wanted a decat downpipe, so needs the original length d/p which has been carried over from the MY'00 to the Jap MY'01.

Euro or UK cars have a shorter d/p, so to attach an HKS system (currently, as HKS only make one system spec'd on the Jap WRX/STi) you can either:

- import a Jap spec d/p with CAT in (big £££)
- install the original ScoobySport d/p (but this removes another CAT, which no everyone is up for) - and has anyone proved it will fit yet?

or
- install a custom link pipe that makes up the circa 20" gap between the Euro d/p and the HKS centre. Which is in effect a shorter replacement for the euro baffle pipe.

We are going for the later, and getting this link pipe made up.
Personally I don't want to touch the d/p at the moment, I might do the up pipe though. And I would like to hear from Jonno when the original SS d/p arrives to confirm it mounts ok in the Jap MY'01.

Cheers alex, "later" is what I thought you were going for, but thought jonno had found a sneaky way round with the old downpipe, missed the fact that he has a Jap STi7.

boultsy,

Yup, I should just clarify though, that if you want a decat downpipe and HKS mid/rear, then potentially the same solution as Jonno is using should be viable ASSUMING all the mount points are the same between Jap spec and Euro spec WRX/STi MY'01 (can someone confirm this?).

Alex, we have 2 STi owners using exact set up and we even make a 3" downpipe (to special order) to suit the HKS centre/rear.

The downside to this set up is that it is difficult to temporarily re-cat the car.
