Panny 50 PZ 70. Cost me £1300 from Digital Direct two weeks ago. Full 1080p & looks quality as well.
Best one on the market IMHO at the moment.

If you're a sheep buy a Panny.

Me?

Ditched the Plasma and went LCD . .

I bought a 1080P LCD Samsung and I'm chuffed to bits with it.

Its going to be your tv so you choose what looks the best to you.

Before I even considered buying a plasma I bought a few magazines, did some reading up on the net etc etc to see where my money would be best placed. Every mag I read, or every group test report always banged on about how good Pioneer sets were. Compared the specs of their sets against other manufacturers and they were a lot higher. Decided to take the plunge and spent a fair bit on one of their new full 1080p Kuro sets and I am well pleased. Stunning performance all round.

As said Mr Ra....IM NOT GOING TO GET 1080p UNTIL NEXT TIME..
At the moment i will be watching Sky,normal DVD and PS2..

No point in getting a 1080p as my source components arent upto it..And they wont be for a couple of years yet..

When all my stuff is Blueray,HD and its a cheaper and more readily accesible i will then buy the full HD tv...

At the momeny its £900 TOPS!!!!!

They are the same TV!!!

The difference between the two is that the 700 has extra speakers. Absolutely no point if you've got AV equipment already.

I've got the 42 inch 70, can't fault it at all. £750 with 5 year Panasonic warranty. (from richer sounds, although I see not long after I bought mine the price went back up to £800 so looks like I got a bargain! )

if i have learned one thing from SN over th years

its take whatever advice is given, reverse it, and do the complete opposite

this way you don't have 1million shares in northern rock
don't have a plasma with flashing pixels
don't have a slow uk model scooby

etc
etc

I assume that is for the older px70 rather than the pz70?

If the Panny was the same price as the Samsung and they were direct comparisons, i'd choose the Panny, but more than usual the Samsung is/should be cheaper.

For that reason, i went up a stage and got the 50" Samsung and so far haven't looked back.

They were £899 not so long a go (and JL would pricematch for the 5 year warranty) seem to be a bit higher at the moment.

New models out in April too BTW...

I see that John Lewis is about the best deal for the TH42PZ70 (taking into account the free 5 year warranty)

£1099, Free 5 year warranty + free delivery within 7 days

Tempting

Buy from Richer Sounds (and other selected stores) and you get the 5 year PANASONIC warranty (not some 3rd party one with all the get-out clauses etc.) for free.

Jesus i feel like a blond!!![/QUOTE]

I'm blonde - forget the TV get down here

Seriously - will be watching to see your verdict when you have your new telly. My CRT is dying and I am completely bemused by what to chose now. Money will be the factor in my choice sadly.
