last night's episode was pretty hard hitting, and a shocking reality check, especially the ending ![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)
RIP Private Gray
Last 2 episodes in the next couple of weeks. hat off to ross and the crew. they deserve many awards for it, as do the troops out there.

it was very good to watch, shame it is only a 5 parter. that was a very good one last night going back into that town where they lost 3 men. at least they gave the taliban a good kicking on that occassion.
the bit where they were coming home and meeting the bloke that one of them dragged out the rubble to save his life was emotional. i liked his comment about going to sleep in afghanistan and waking up in birmingham, thinking they werent too different.

Absolutely brilliant television and shows the way for the BBC if you ask me....
It really makes me feel honoured to have such amazing people fighting for us.

Obviously Kemo has history with Sky through the "ross Kemp on Gangs..." series, which was also surprisingly good.
Plus of course, Sky have a legal obligation to have a percentage of original programming.

Been a superb series. You really feel for the guys out there and the job they're having to do. I couldn't get over how young some of the blokes were.... more in looks. Some were just boys. When you consider the waste of taxpayers money on general bureaucracy and silly government schemes it's maddening when these blokes don't have the necessary kit or enough helicopter support to ensure they can be moved or extracted ASAP should the need be there. I also found it shocking they are encouraged to take out their own insurance should they be maimed. If that happens the least this country should do for them is ensure they're properly cared for and given the full support required to lead as full a life as can be.
I had to laugh when the bloke who was pretty much left for dead in the blue on blue met the guy who pulled him from the rubble. He said he went to sleep in Afghanistan and woke up in Birmingham.... although it was tough to tell the difference
I had one final thought on seeing the blokes who served but I'll keep that to myself. (Nothing gay before you ********* start )

Just finished watching this. It is a shocking reality check as to what is really going on out there. I struggle to understand the task they have to endure.
In particular I just don't understand the tactics they use. They must be the right ones, but it all just seems so incredibly slow. I had no idea real combat would be like that.
Just taking the last episode you hear of the intel that there are some Taliban waiting in ambush and that they plan to bomb them. It takes nearly an hour from that decision for the bombs to actually drop (the planes were circling overhead during this time). Then when they go into the town they get all the way to the Taliban front line, but don't actually go up to them. They seemed to fire a lot of rounds into a wall, and then just leave![Confused](images/smilies/confused.gif)
The above is no criticism. I have no military training at all. I kind of just assumed when there were only 50 enemy or so they would bomb the positions and then charge forth killing them all.

Finally got round to watching the last two episodes back-to-back last night.
Great series. So much respect for our forces and the tough job they do!![Notworthy](images/smilies/notworthy.gif)
Makes me feel like trying to do something to give them some support in some way.
