See second post by me (included above for ease of reference)
If I was the kinda guy to say I told you so......
Still, a very sad situation: looks like a loving dog has been unnecessarily destroyed because of the undeserved reputation that the media have been so instrumental in creating.

Scooby Regular
Apparently by licking him and nudging his head. Serious head injuries, if any existed at all other than by way of a fall, appear to be media conjecture.
This whole abuse of position by the media, and especially supposedly reliable sources such as the BBC, is getting right out of order.

Same ****, same people different day!!!
If you actually know the circumstances then feel free to post all you like. But if its what you've read or heard then shut up.
I have a 8 month old Rottie he's big but he's friendly to those he knows.
If he doesn't know you he's less friendly. Infact my 8 year old collie is exactly the same.
If you have experience of owning a Rottie then i'll take your opinions seriously.
Or like most of the people posting on this thread you're making judgement on the breed by what you see in the papers or on the news rather than through actual experience with one then for heaven's sake click on that X in the top right corner or simply press Alt + F4

You appear to be talking out of your backside.
My parents have owned two in the past and neither stepped out of line.
Its all about the way you bring them up, bit like kids really, drag them up and you end up with trouble, treat them right and reap the rewards.
There are a lot of dogs capable of giving a savaging and i believe the Rottweiler isn't even on the dangerous dogs register.

A likely story, we all know that Rottwielers are the evil and that anyone owning one is asking for trouble, and should be licensed, costing thousands of pounds so that anyone with little money (which obviously makes them pikey and not able to be responsible for a dog) can't have one.
