PMSL, it's not standard then is it !!!!!!!
I don't have a lardy newage
I used to have one, also had a uk classic and an STI3 Type RA running circa 350bhp but this aint a pissing contest is it. Certainly wasn't spitting dummy out of the pram, just raising some objections to a stupid statement by a blinkered scooby owner (which wasn't even you!)

I didn't say they were slow, I said they were not that quick in standard form. Classic Sti's as we all know outperform most uk variants. Is your car standard?
I had a modded newage wrx running circa 315bhp, stuggled to pull more than a couple of car lengths on a clio 182 through the gears.
A lot of people on here are blinkered in their opinions, pulling a car length or two on someone is hardly blowing their socks off is it![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

i have a modded newage runing 334bhp. and i can pull away from my mates SEAT LEON C R 265BHP REVO.
i could beat clios 182, when it was 280bhp
the one you race must have been tunned to 200bhp+

but i never quite had the same grin under boost i got with the impreza , the skyline seemed to refined whereas the scoob grabbed me by the bollocks and twisted em

Re. most Skylines and Scoobs not being that quick; to 95% of the population they are quick, very quick. The performace car market must make up a v.small percentage of the total cars sold, your average car owner would be blown away if he sat in a 182, Civic Type R, Impreza.........etc!

I think comparing a scooby to a skyline is probably not fair. The Skyline is a gran tourer/track machine where as the scooby has it's roots firmly in rallying.
Where as the scooby will be a very fast point-to-point machine, the Skyline will be about the long drag race down a motorway/quarter mile.
I bought my scooby for the reason i.e to attack the odd B road and still motor my kids about during the day

It wasn't you're typical "I blew a scoob away last night in my 1.3 Nova with Chery Bomb exhaust" type comment that we see so often from newbies who are trolling. I've owned quite a few scoobs in different guises so I think my views are just as valid as anyone elses

I went to buy a VSpec 350bhp GTR R33. That was far from slow. Certainly wet over my UK Classic 275bhp.
I did feel slightly removed from it though and if getting into another car after driving it, you'd probably end in a ditch.
Would i have another Skyline. Yes, probably, but an R34.
Each to their own.

skyline just did not seem anythin like the scoob , scoob is stripped right out with just the font seats left runs 1.3 bar of boost and feels ALOT faster than the slowline plus being a type r the short ratio box makes it feel very aggresive .

not driven a skyline so cant comment on that part of the argument.
However, i had a modded wrx which i sold and bought a civic type r....which i immediately regretted and was ultra disappointed with the performance of.
I have just sold the civic and have returned to a standard(engine wise) 52 PLATE WRX and i can honestly say i will not be buying a different performance car ever again.
Scoobys all the way for me from now on.
The performance coupled with the handling just make them far better than the closest competition £ for £.
