Luc Besson keeps ruling out Leon 2 with Matilda as a grown woman, lots of people keep writing scripts for it, and he keeps on binning them

Does anyone think they should remake AvP

Went to see a film a year or two ago, forgotten which, and it had "the penguins at Christmas" short film at the front. I hadn't seen Madagascar at the time. Thought they were brilliant. Quite a challenge for the writers to turn a few sketches into an hour and a half feature though, often things like that just collapse.

I'd like a sequel to Event Horizon. OR a prequel.

Either the Event Horizon returns with Miller as its captain determined to pull another ill fated recovery crew into the depths of hell. Bit too cliched and in danger of being "by the numbers"

Or much better, its the maiden flight of the Event Horizon which has problems from the start and perhaps is already possesed. Maybe Wiers wife committed suicide on the Event Horizon (in the bath but you never saw where) which made the ship vunerable to daemons before it went into warp space.

LOOK LOOK LOOK - DEATH RACE 2000 REMAKE!!

Its going to be a bit **** but I'll still watch it.

Could they make a sequel to Pulp Fiction without ruining the original?

I like the sound of that Lost Boys 2, but it could be bad, just like a lot of other sequels.

All of them, so long as weapons are replaced with walkie-talkies, and any "odd" names for an animals, I dunno...like a dog, is replaced with a name that sounds like a component from a gun....err....I mean...walkie-talkie!

Very rare that a re-make or a sequel is ever as good as the original.

Indeed - Let's have examples...

Empire Strikes Back > Star Wars
Godfather Part 2 > The Godfather
Superman 2 > Superman

Any more?

Very true, Les.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to return "Horny student Co-eds 2" to the video store: i found the acting unconvincing, the plot implausible, the dialogue awful and the music way too 70s

I think Aliens 2 and Terminator 2, James Cameron got good marks generally.

As said though, Titanic 2, that would be a challenge even for him...

There should be a big budget remake of Clockwork Orange with Tim Burton producing it.

Terminator 2 maybe - I wouldn't say Aliens is better than Alien, though; just "different".

As for Titanic, I'm not sure it's possible to make a worse film, so that one should be pretty easy

Nah, they should make a version more faithful to Burgess's book ie. a lot darker in tone. Some of the scenes in Kubrick's were comedic when they should've been a lot more gritty. Also it was based on the US version of the book which missed out the last chapter

I actually prefer the US version of the book - Much, darker ending.

Also, I wouldn't say it was comedic - I would just say it made a brilliant protrayal simutaneous horror of the victims and the joy of Alex & Co.
