alan, what do mne and chieftain do? we didnt join until late last year. i'm ok with paying for half a year, but are you going to keep a book or something, so that i or other people dont end up paying too much.... or too less?

as for the cards, i liked bullitts idea... but i reckon you should keep em simple.. i cant see the cards gettin abused.. i mean its not like they are credit cards is it. not wanting to sound pessamistic there its a good idea to have cards, and how about putting your username on the back in big letters, and a slot in the top, the idea being when we goto the EOM, or days out, we can turn the cards over, put one of those clamps on, and wear them as name badges.. like rich said, i dont know every body in the club so it would help to put names to faces...

just an idea.

Valentines day??? What's Valentines day???

Ah...oops...

How about the following Thursday.... 21st?

Weekends are difficult for me with Footie... But then again, the 21st won't suit everybody....

21st OK????

(that's not another day I should really remember is it????)

My point about the cars getting abused is that over last year, one of the main points been was that non paid members were able to use the clubs benefits such as free food at shows etc. This was one of the main gripes people who paid the subs had, when other people who aren't even members getting food when its supposed to be there for the paid members benefit.

At least with the Cards it cuts down the chance of this happening again.

The only exception to the case should be members families, Sticky and Crafts bring their families, Alan brings Sean etc

appreciate what your sayin rich. having your username on the back of your card, and then being able to display it on your jacket or top, means that you will instantly be able to see who is a member, when at formal functions and doo's.. personally i think its a better idea, rather than having to check everyones card individually when they want some grub or something.. that side of things can be used when you goto AET for example.. perhaps you could put some ideas that match your card pics you already have put up. jazz it up a little on the back and a place for the your username??

just an idea

yeah but its on the front and its only small... your user name, or real name could do with been on the back, in big letters, so that you can turn the card round and use it as a name badge.

Can't see the difference as to where it is so long as its on there. Why does it have to be in BIG letters??

Its not that hard to read when your 2 feet away from someone.

Andy.. sorry..missed your post to me..

You and Chief were one of the late in the year payers... so we'll look to take a pro rata payment from the date you paid in 2007..

ie.. if you paid in the Oct or Nov then we'll take a few quid to the end of the year then you're in line with the rest from Jan.

We'll definitely be taking a book this year as the idea of the two payment slots meant we didn't need one... but the failure of this idea meant we were stuck when people paid full later on...what we should have done then was take a pro-rata payment then....

Hindsight is a wonderful thing....But don't worry, you wont be charged again... likewise we'll make sure you pay enough...

As for cards.... throw up some simple designs that we can look at... We can discuss them at the meet....remember a few simple colours (I do like the Matt Black and Dayglo pink ideas) will be cheapest as we'll probably be looking to run off say 100 as this is cheaper too.

We've discussed this a few times and we'll either write the names on or put a number on as individually printing the cards will be expensive and a pain... especially as people join through the year and we'll have to keep getting special print runs......

We also have to make sure than when people do leave, those issued numbers are withdrawn if the card isn't handed back in... we'll also only issue cards after a few meets have been attended as I don't see it as fair that someone can join, pay their subs then get say.. a £100 knocked of a big job from AET, Andy or Scoobyclinic. This simply means that we gain £25, the others loose out on a £100 discount (and the one off member gains £75 worth of discounts) ...this has happened to Andy.. So people will have to earn the card with attendances and then be asked for the card back once their time with the club has come to an end...

We'll make sure that Ellie, JB etc has a list of current members.. or they can check the membership on the forum here to make sure that someone isn't trying it on with an old card and looking for discount when they aren't eligible.

Plenty to discuss though....
