I recently bought a TH-42PZ70 from John Lewis and the reason i chose John Lewis is because you hear nothing but good things about their aftercare service from people on the AV forums, basically if anything goes wrong with your tv within the 5 year warranty period they will replace it.

Also if your tv is a discontinued model they will replace it with the equivelant spec at the time and i read that some people got a more expensive tv as a replacement as it was the nearest spec at the time.

As for the likes of currys, i wouldn`t even buy a toaster from them. Their aftercare is diabolical because they use their own in house repare service which i think is called mastercare, the problem with mastercare is the repairers don`t specialise in one particular brand as their basic knowledge is spread across various manufacturers so they only have the basic knowledge rather than a specialists knowledge of one particular brand.
