I can't do that as the image is not on at a url, it's on my PC. Ah well, was going to post an intersting picture which, as a result of climate change, lead to us.

Upload it to a free picture hosting service like photobucket and do what Pete said.

I think its terrible that people are debating climate change....

If it wasn't for all you evil planet killers I would still have to dig through several tens of metres of ice to get to my house and I would still be able to walk to France!

DAMN YOU CAR DRIVERS!

Can't be bothered, usually requires "free registration" and all that bullcrap! Clearly SN don't want to space for contributors to upload stuff.

I wonder what happens with the "profits" from sponsors and membership fees?

Goes into the pocket sof those that own the site probably! But I don't begrudge them a penny of it - I don't see why they should do it for fun. I certainly don't think I should be provided with free storage space by them!

Storage can be provided, free, for a period. It's VERY easy to install, and does not cost much at all (Above server costs that is). After 48hrs, purge! Crikey, other "blogs" can do it.

Hmm, that wouldn't be very useful would it? 48 hrs ain't long, this thread has run for much longer. Would be a bit frustrating really looking at red x's all over the place.

Most people manage it, so perhaps if you can't be bothered, don't complain.

Don't see why, to use this site, I have to use other "free" sites to post a picture when that is offered as an option (Albeit via a URL option only). Seems SN is "bludging" off other webspaces (Who are prepared to offer free space).

Going back to another post about a picture. It's a picture of "Lucy" (In the national museum in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia), according to "accepted science" (And along with "accepted science" on climate change I challenge the theory), Lucy is related to us, she is our, distant, ancestor. If climate hadn't changed, meaning trees diminished and grasses (etc) grew, she would not have "dropped" from them.

Mitochondrial DNA can be traced, from everyone, back to Africa. It's passed on by the mother.

Can anyone provide a link to proof that temperatures have increased since 1998?

I've not seen one on here yet I don't think and given how supposedly dire global warming is, if temperatures haven't risen in the last 10 years, then surely questions need to be asked?

I haven't got any charts to hand, but I believe during the last 10 years we have had 9 of the 10 of the hottest years on record (thats for the UK I don't know the global numbers)

I asked earlier in the thread for evidence on how the *average* is calculated/measured. Strange but I go no response - and you don't have to be any sort of scientist to have knowledge of how to work out an average - it's basic primary school maths. Or it was when I were a lad ..... Part of the reason for asking that question can be seen on pages such as NASA and the Warmest Year

See the sparsity of monitoring stations around the world, particularly over the oceans. Look at the effect of using different radii for the area *covered* by a single station. If you don't see that the systems we have place to figure out if the globe is warming/cooling/staying the same are NOT there then you're being rather short sighted ..... (to put it politely!).

Dave
Well read again please, I said UK temps and we have very good records of temps here.

I've done some digging and can't find anywhere that doesn't say that 1998 was the hottest year on record.

Given how much CO2 levels must have increased since then, how come temperatures have never reached that level again?

The last 10 years are supposedly the worst for carbon emmissions and yet temps haven't gone that high again!

As I said, apply your primary school maths to the problem and you'll see it's impossible!

Dave

Don't know if the US system is better, but ours is certainly older.

As for global averages, I have no idea, I'll let the scientists answer that one

Here's a scientist's view for you.

American Thinker: Is there an average global temperature?

I see no-one has disputed that the hottest year on record was 1998, even using the possibly flawed method described above.

Can I take this to mean that Scoobynet is in agreement then, that temperatures haven't risen in the last 10 years?

Global temperature? Nope, you can't.

And that link is an absolute joke - It would be like me putting up a "freinds of the earth" site as a source.

Its quite simple if the global average temperature goes up then the planet is warmer.

On the whole, taken as an average, temps are going up.

What are you doing that's different, then?

Every available bit of research I can find shows an upward trend for the last 100 years or so (i.e. since temps were relaibly recorded) - If you have one that shows a downward one, then of course I'll look at it.

I think you are right, and also it is undeniable that the climate has changed over the past years. But can you say for certain that it is all due to Man's effect on the planet or is it cyclical? I personally think it is a combination, but if we stopped producing any CO2 or excessive water vapour, that the temperature rise would continue.

Please point me to a period in Earths climate, not from a human perspective, when climate didn't change?

There is the "anomolly" now of the temperature "plataeu" form 1998. I wonder how all the climate models "missed" that?

Did I ever say that is hasn't-don't understand what you are attempting to argue about!

I have seen our climate changing significantly over a period of years. What else do you want me to say?

As for 'ask the scientists' about a global average - why? It's primary school mathematics plus being able to read a thermometer. Or did you fail primary school maths???? (Aimed at Martin2005 that one - maybe that was the yrear he was born so hasn't done any 'maffs' yet ....)

Dave
And there was me thinking we were having a grown-ups discussion!

How fcking dare you insult me like that

I'll say no more or I'll be infracted

I want/expect nothing from you, persoanlly. What I expect every individual to do is examine the real data, not what the IPCC, Govn't and Al "I invented the internet" Gore tells you what is fact. It isn't fact.

Climate changes, always has, always will. And eventually, the Earth will be burnt to dust!

This whole Al 'I invented the internet' Gore thing is of course just another right wing piece of propoganda that was regularly trotted out by Fox, Rush Limpbar, Sean Hanity and the rest of the neo-con nutcase estabilment during the 2000 election. I'm surprised you fell for it.
