Credit cards are a curse,you have to have a firm grip on your finances to use them..
If your well in the poo,have you thought of downsizing,or just trying to trim your finances,so you can see where your original calculations went wrong?

Why not get another one or two credit cards to transfer the balance?? Might cost a couple of hundred quid admin fee but you can get twelve months interest free and then do the same in twelve months time!! You have got to be organised if you do this and make sure you set up direct debit for minimum each month then when you feel a bit flush you can chuck a few more quid into the pot.
I did it purely for convenience.....I needed money for a car the next day, couldnt get at my savings so virgin credit card said they would transfer 10k to my bank account as a balance transfer....12 months later Ive transfered to another and owe 4k but left my savings where they were (not that they're earning loads anymore).
