Default Pirelli Rosso

... hey ill tell ya somat though, these Pirelli's are the best tyres ive ever had, and ive just about had them all at sometime on my previous 5 scoobys.

they came on the wheels i picked up, and read a few post saying to avoid them so i thought id wear them out then get some more Toyos or Goodyear, but ill be buying the pirelli's again

even is these wet winter months the grip is superb! even with the DCCD in sideways mode.

Trust me, the compound is a bit hard for this time of year when its so damp and cold, acceptable on a scoob, lethal on a MR2

Superb in the dry though once they have some heat in them.

Having said that Toyos, are on the same level. And everyone still raves about them

Had some pirelli rosso's on the rear of my Rx7. Never had a problem with them in the dry or even the wet

only way I can see that happening is if you're running minimal clearance between the brake caliper and wheel and when you've hit the kerb with the brakes on you've smacked the inside of the wheel on the caliper. I'd not drive it till its been looked at and changed

My last "kerbing" incident cost me 10% no claims and the insurers £4500 plus change! 15-20MPH understeered into a traffic island, wrote off the whole drivers side front corner as far as suspension, engine mounts, drive shaft etc. Wheel pushed back into wheel arch, snapped the alloy wheel off at pavement height, new wheel arch, sill trim.....4 pages of parts on the quote. The bodyshop said I hit it at exactly the right angle. And yes it was a numpty, dumbass thing to do!

Oh, and the brake disk was about the only bit I DIDN'T trash!

That disc should never be repaired, unless you wana drive a death trap.

I'm on P6000 Pirelli's, and they seem to handle very good at the mo. Not a clue what i will opt for when they're due a change.

Christ, so not a one off.

The only explaination I can think of is there must be ahell of alot of flex in the stub axle to cause that to happen.

How was the wheel bearing? (shagged presumably )
