Sorry to read about your troubles fella, it might be worth getting in touch with your local citizens advice for advice on what to do next.
The seller advertised as a JDM and it's obviously not so can he be done under the trades descriptions act?

I'm sure those who know more about these things will be along shortly

Good luck in getting it sorted.

he said i cant do anything because 1 i dint win the ebay auction,2 he dint no that it had a new engine, does anyone think i could win this case if went to court?

Process the paperwork, then "ask" for £1K, to leave his name "clean".

i did but he said you wont get a penny out of me, and i said i have got all the paper work ready.

How long ago did you buy this..?

As I see it you have two options;

Small claims court, provided you have enough evidence (ie a receipt stating you've bought a JDM and Ebay print out etc). The problem with this is he could argue that the engine's been changed after the sale, or you knew it had a new engine before buying..!

Secondly, pay someone to visit him and 'explain' his error..

Finally, if all else fails get it PROPERLY mapped, although you may always wonder what else isn't what it should be..!

it just says on the recipt subaru sti, but here is ebay number 120193821538 this is his add, he said he put the exhaust on it so if he said the engine has been fitted after the sale how would a uk exhaust fit a jdm?
