obviously, this could be very subjective, relating specifically to her prison...she didnt say it was a national average and she may not even have been right as she didnt come across as the brightest girl, just very brainwashed by her own bullsh*t which most of the worlds do-gooders are...
the point i was making is in response to your post about locking people up and forgetting about them and that breeding yet more criminal behaviour...
the kinds of offenders that are of the most concern at the moment are the kind that need to be locked up and kept segregated so a) they do serve a sentence that fits the crime which i would hope would be a suitable deterrant (and if life meant life, then there would be no need to worry about them breeding criminal behaviour becase they wouldnt get a chance to act on it), and b) so they cant be influenced by other inmates...but this is a whole other topic of debate...
