BOB'5,
I have tried to buy driver skills off Ebay, but to this day I can't find a suitable product! This is one area of modification I fail to be able to reach my target!

It does sound like a decent machine.

If ever we're at the same event, I'll happily see what she'll do...no charge

I didn't mention that anyone could do it cheaper or that i thought it was expensive, for a drive in/drive out package i think its actually not bad.

Was just pointing out it's not the £9K you quoted.

Looking at the OP's profile, being only 19 and a full time student, unless he has rich parents/relatives, there is no way on earth he could afford to do the job properly

thought this thread needed this re inserting as some seem to have forgotten what it was about! op dude please tell us if you have bottomless pockets? i think i saw you say you wanted to spend 4/5k the only way you will get close to 450/450 for that kind of money is by rebuilding your own engine and its gona have to be in stages cos all your really gona get for 5k is a build that can cope with 450 you will need lots of other stuff ie about another 5k worth and thats before the cost of a new gearbox and new stoppers..

the basic 2.5 build wont cope with 450.

once you get over 350 its a whole new ball game, you have to spend as much, if not more, on supporting mods as you do on the engine specifics like block, rods and pistons.

oil coolers, fuel pressure regulators, ecu systems, improved air intake, different wastegates, uprated radiators, uprated head bolts etc etc, the list is as long as your arm.

think the best question you can answer is how much do you have to spend?

pmsl,

you can do a day driving scoobs with prodrive for about £250, but there just muck around days. Prodrive do proper instruction driving if you pay them enough

Don't forget the clutch and gearbox, brakes, suspension and extra insurance. You may need more intercooling and an oil cooler, oh and uprated oil pump, fuel pump, induction, exhaust, manifold, upipe.

Come to think of it, just buy a car that's had this work done as it'll be way cheaper.

Default 3 port boost solonoid?

Without coming accross as stupid but what does the above do to help the car? Ive got a my00 uk turbo and at the moment its got a sports cat down pipe, a full hayward and scott system and a green panel filter. Im getting it remmaped next month by simon(jgm) which im looking forward to as he comes highly recommended. Will that part make any difference to the car after the remap?

Regards Dan
