I haven't had mine through yet so as soon as I do I'll let you know what the fitment is like.

Hopefully this is just a one-off, otherwise DRM will get some grief!

I got my rear window spoiler through this morning.
Looks great.

These roof spoilers need bonded on, so will do that over the weekend, did a trial fit and it's perfect.

Local owner has just called me to say his STi 8 spoiler has arrived too, and asked me if I'll help him fit it.

So will let you know how they both go.

Just received my STi 8 spoiler and had the same problem with the brake light cable.

I eventually took the brake light out and re-threaded it through towards the hole.

The 3M tape is all round the edge of the spoiler which is good, and the 4 black plastic strips which came with the nuts & bolts are apparently to help you drill extra holes if you want more than 4 fixing points.

I will give the fitting a go on Friday so will let you know how I get on.

The actual spoiler itself is good quality and the painting is good too considering it's a replica, and the packaging ensures no chance of damage in transit.

If I find the bolts / holes do not line up exactly I'll let DRM know accordingly.

DRM reckon that they now have 18 orders from Scoobynet and they should all be completed within the next 3 weeks.

As with all replica equipment, as long as the quality is good and you only need some minor adjustment to fit it then that's a damn sight better than buying one which you have to take to a Body-Shop ! I know from past experience !

I'll keep you updated on progress ...

Okay, I've just helped fit the STi 8 spoiler to my friends car. He couldn't wait until the weekend.

First of all the brake cable light was also tucked inside the spoiler. It took about 2 minutes to fish it back out. No big deal, and not worth moaning about.

We removed the WRX spoiler, 4 bolts and disconnected the brake connection. Took a bit of a tug but off it came. As the boot lid was covered in grime under the old spoiler, we gave it a good clean.

We decided to do a trial fit, and 3 of the bolt holes matched perfectly. the 4th was just catching the edge of the hole, and while we could have forced it on, we decided to open the hole into a bigger oval shape using a small round file. I would say it was about half the thickness of the bolt out, about 2mm. Touched up the edge with some paint and let it dry.

Pulled off the backing from the double sided tape, and fitted it back in place. 2 fittings are nuts on the bolts that are set into the spoiler, the other 2 are bolts screwed into threaded holes. Tightened all these up.

There is extra fittings and plastic strips in with the spoiler and we did think about drilling an extra couple in the centre, but it sits on the boot lid nicely, so didn't bother.

Just the brake light to connect, so we chopped the original connection from the old WRX spoiler and reconnected this to the new wiring and tucked the connection up inside the spoiler hole, so it looks as the original did.

Overall verdict.
Well it only took us an hour to fit, and most of that was farting about chatting.
It would have been great for it just to drop into the bootlid but having to open up 1 hole by 2mm or so, was no big deal. Any other suppliers I've seen always need lots of new holes drilled, and I wouldn't tackle that myself - so extra costs there if you take it to a bodyshop.

I do like the clear brake light, most replicas are red and a big give away. The paint job is also very good.

So 9/10.
If you want 10/10 it's £900 for a genuine one from your friendly Subaru dealer.
So for £280 this is a very good spoiler at a very good price.

I'll be trying mine tomorrow and I am also picking up a black front lip spoiler from HT Autos on Saturday so by Saturday evening I should be all spoilered up

I'll post some pics once I've finished provided I don't get angry and smash everything up

Had the 5 year Service and Mot done yesterday and surprise, surprise the cambelt tensioners needed replacing - so a total of £601 spent and the only difference was a dirty car mat, a small scratch(!) and the hand-brake will now form part of an event in World's Strongest Man

Ouch..!

Lol, now now, it's only money..

Seriously, take a few pics and let us know as I'm still sitting on the fence..

Oh and before you smash it up/fit, would you be so kind as to pop it on the bathroom scales..? To be a total PITA, could you then do the same with the original..?

Weight is really the only thing that's holding me back..

I will be "trying" to post some pics tomorrow once I've cleaned the Scoob but just to let you know that I fitted the STi 8 spoiler yesterday and apart from having to open up 2 of the holes slightly it fitted nicely on the boot lid.

As I've said before, I'm no mechanic so with the help of the wife, we managed to take the old one off and fit the new one in about 1 hour

I've also put STi stickers on each corner and a HUGE STi sticker on the main spoiler itself - going through a sticker frenzy at the moment !

The front lip spoiler from HT Auto's was excellent and makes such a difference to the front of the car it's hard to describe - a must have for any WRX owner and it doesn't affect going over speed bumps.

Like I say, pics to follow tomorrow ...

Forgot to weigh the new spoiler but to be honest as it's made from fibre glass the weight difference it neglible.

Overall I'm one happy Scooby owner and the combination of the STi spoiler and black front lip spoiler look fantastic

On a separate note, I thought my MOT was due in April but just realised that it's actually next Wednesday! Called "Tiley of Bristol" (Subaru Dealer) and with a 10% discount (I'm a member of Southwestscoobies) they have quoted £450 for a 5 year Full Service including Cambelt change, an MOT and a free courtesy car - quite reasonable I thought.
Saw this a bit Late, But i got my 50k service and MOT + Tribeca as a courtsy car for £320 from A main dealer in Surrey, via my local club, think your club need to negotiate a bit more!

I know I'm an STi wannaby

The rear spoiler fitment around the edges is spot on and there was a slight gap just above the brake light but nothing I would personally worry about and I'm a bit **** !

If anyone still wants in on the Group Buy then you would need to contact David at DRM as shown on previous posts above.

Altogether I'm really happy with the results for a replica spoiler, and the front spoiler from HT Autos was a 100% perfect fit

Question

Anyone else received their spoilers yet, from the original groupbuy? I paid up a couple of weeks ago, although I'm in no great rush I would like to know whether the groupbuy orders are being fulfilled yet?

Just unpacked my spoiler and firstly noticed that there are 2 bolts hanging down from the spoiler, I thought there were meant to be 4? Or do I have to remove 2 of the bolts from the original spoiler and fit them to the replica?

When we fitted my mates, the 2 bolts from the spoiler had nuts / washers on them. These fit down through the boot lid, fit the washers and tighten the nuts.
The other 2 are screw/bolts that tighten into the threads already in the spoiler.

Really easy stuff.

There was also instructions in with the spare fittings.

Ok cheers this makes sense now. Does the original spoiler use this system or are there 4 bolts that hang down from the spoiler?
