The body burns protein 3 times as quick as carbohydrates. the way we break down carbs, fats and proteins differ.
I disagree with your comments, now i'm no scientist but have taken this info off various bodybuilders who have been in the game for years. and through my own diet and they tell me the same thing.
And i very much doubt Mr kayes is wrong.

I'll agree to disagree, I'm a chemist not a bio-chemist and as such my replies have been based on my A level Biology which I sat 16 years ago....
Although I'm positive that my overall summation is correct, I certainly wont deny that there may well be certain scientific truths in what you are saying. BB'ing nutrition is a huge and interesting field with publication being released all the time which challenge the status quo.

I'll put my £1 in, I have been body building for 9 years, prior to that doing martial arts for 4 years so I have a little experience.
Firstly are you with a gym, if so what kind of gym is it (i.e does it have machines only or a free weight gym area)?
How tall are you and how much do you currently weigh?
With the above info I could make you a simple and effective plan that will get you results.

varboy appreciate what you put into words i could not, studied proteins ages ago and am no scientist, but scientifically it does store as fat.
serious bodybuilders have no protein deficit or none to speak of due a pre planned diet and amount of training, protein intake is carefully calculated.
beginners tend to overtrain using there protein intake, and with experience start to calculate its usage/ so fat does not show.
at least this has got me repening totora (anatomy and physiology) have not opened it for ages.
