tsk tsk tsk - i would have thought that people would know the game of counter-strike better than they have displayed on this thread. "hunt" the noob, was highly amusing to hear crack shouting off about gonna get him first! but if you think about it - crack has no idea where a single player is and if he is stupid enough to tear **** around the place in search of a single player then chances are one of the opposition will see him tearing about and pop a cap in him from their nice hidy hole. The object of the game on inferno for CT is to protect the bomb sites - we adopted a rush tactic to prevent the T's reacinhg their goal bombsites.
i find the game becomes frustrating when the sides are uneven and you can't get a look in no matter what tactic your team chooses. maybe if one team is dominating - 5 straight wins - then we should have a team shuffle? just a thought.
steve with isdn 64k i would not accept a ping of >120 as normal. therefore there is either a problem with the setup of your pc or you need to change isp. ppl are getting excellent results using freeserver - a 12.99 0800 24/7 connection. i think this is the same you are paying with BT. what makeup is your pc? gfx card and isdn card? have you tried a trace route to the locked server to test for possible hold ups.
thanks mike and orb for the server - it runs much better for me than any public server. playing with friends with no suspicion of cheating - apart from when crack winds me up! - is brilliant, it makes the game much more enjoyable.

oh woah is me
I was doing the headless chicken thing on inferno for about 2 rounds as everyone was moaning so much I thought wehey lets go craaaazy for once. After four cans of stella it also seemed like the best idea I had ever had to hunt the Noob with my old mucker Cem
P.s. all you guys missed blowdogs guide to suicide on delta assault later on in the evening, now that was funny

Delta Assault.
All get on to the top of the tallest building and have gun fights with opposition with duals. If it looks like you're about to lose, save face and jump off.
Suicides are so much more honourable.

Ahhhhh Diddums - the Newbie is all upset.....
Truth is Damaged_ass and *******......I couldn't give a ****, i'll just not bother and go back on the Zone server and play Rogue Spear......for one deluded minute I thought it might be fun.
The point is el stupidos that it's only a game if you're having fun, and if every time the round starts the newbie (whether its me or someone else) gets hunted and raped and doesn't get a chance to 'play' then wheres the fun in that???? - OH SILLY ME - I FORGOT YOU HAD A GREAT TIME!!!!!

It is really just a game and it's raison d'etre is pure entertainment, we should not be treating it any more serious than that. I am having a great laugh playing CS and I am totally grateful to Mike and Steve for providing us with the exclusive use of these servers. But when we cross the border from having a laugh to blatant personal attacks then surely there is something fundamentally wrong with my idea of 'gaming'.
Keep the cheap shots out.

CS is a hard game for newbies to get into. You spend the first 1/2 weeks going 0 kills 15 deaths on every map but then it clicks.
Normally I manage to hold my own and end up with leave kills/deaths which does not upset me to much.
Some times you just have a very bad day.
Top Tips for beginners:
1. Keep on trying. Do not give it up after day one
2. Follow someone or a group. Never go off by yourself!
3. When following try not be first or last.
4. When dead, watch the good players!
5. Do not use Quake / UT tatics. Sometimes its better to hide or run!
6. Out gunned? Run the other way!
7. Use objects for cover. pop out from behind cover, shoot a couple of shots and go back. Repeat until all other side is dead
We could arrange a handy cap day. Top players only allowed pistols etc.

i was having such a bad nite i missed all of this.
Crispin...take what orv says onboard. i have been playing online FPS's for years and it took me a long time to get used to recoil on guns / not spray and pray firing as u do in Quake etc with unlimited ammo and straight back to life / moving slow / hiding at times to listen...yes listen to whats happening near by...ie u need to learn to know the sounds of each gun !!!! so different to Quake etc.

My memories of last night are as follows:
Everyone playing on dust, I, yes me Mr BADMAN CRACK NOOB HUNTER EXTRODINAIRE gave Blind3r advice on what gun to buy, avoid the machine gun as it is hard for an experienced person to get kills with the damn thing, where to look when running under bridge, alerting him where enemy was, telling him to get back so he would not get killed, covering him on numerous occasions getting killed in the process myself!
Hunt the noob lasted for 2 rounds before map got changed on inferno
was you Blind3r? if you was I see how you forgot to mention my Bad self trying to help you out on a number of occassions.
If you were't Blind3r then it was not you that was hunted!
Me and Cem are jesters when together on CS and boy did you take this the wrong way. I apologise sincerly if you felt that you was picked on all night cause I can assure you that this was not the case one bit!!!!!!! I am not a bitter person and neither is Cem so lets all get together on CS and have a big group hug followed by a huge knifing session.

p.p.s If again you was Blind3r you had a ping of 300+ this is v v v bad news and you might as well have a huge siren going off all the time with a huge target painted on your back. You need to sort this out!!!!

I'm still cr@p - the only reason I'm anywhere is that I'm thick-skinned/headed & keep coming back for more
As I've got to learn the maps, then I've developed my own sneaky camping tactics, for the cheap kills 
I'm also quite good at following the "headshot wonders" around & picking up ideas, providing diversions, laying down covering fire & obtaining assists on kills. Generally keeps me alive for more than one round
I think my advanced years & too many beers go against me
At the end of the day, its better than lining up your work collegues and battering them with a baseball bat

u will stuggle and struggle if its always that bad....believe me i know from long bitter experience
if u r a 56k'er like i was til 2 weeks ago (and still am when isdn fails !) then u need a ping of no more than 250 to have a chance. hopefully 200. my best 56k pings used to be between 150-170 !

As this is the first bout of nastiness to have been caused through CS it must be settled by a duel !
Crispin and Blow-Dog must have a handicapped showdown !
To keep the traditional flavour it has to be as close as possible to 'Pistols at dawn' (see where I'm going ? )
The map : DE-dawn
The weapons :
Crispin gets whatever he wants with a 16000 start amount (Handicap)
Blow-Dog gets only 'Duel' Elites [sic] (Handicap)
Best of 5 rounds with all of us spectating to ensure fair play.
May the best man win and may the loser forever hold his 'piece'
