Just picking up from ScoobyJawa's instructions, you can alternatively do it by the roadside whilst running late for the rolling road @ PE!

It's all very simple to do.

Definitely interested in an AFR. Looked at the website, but what sort of calibration/setting up do they need?

Add me to the list of interested parties for the controller and AFR meter
Might even stetch to the uprated one if someone can prove its worth the extra money.

I've asked for the AFR meter to be configured like this:

> Red 810-830 mV
> Yellow 830-850 mV
> Green 850-870 mV
> Blue 870-890 mV

Then you just have to connect a couple of wires (power, light & lamda from off ECU) and stick it on top of the steering column. Easy

See John's FAQ

The "Race Version" of the boost controller seems to be the favorite since it's supposedly less prone to spiking.

I have emailed Darren for estimates on availabilty.
Will send emails to those interested soon.

If set-up for a scooby as posted here interested in AFR - looks more professional than i could make with my bag o bits from Maplin (still in bag after 2-weeks)

Already got a PAY PAL account so could order direct to save hassle of cheques etc. but would like to benefit from any discount from a group buy order.

I am definitely interested in the controller and AFR.
I suppose I shall just have to take a chance on using it on my de-catted STi as nobody seems to know anything about this particular configuration.
I also have a Unichip which I have yet to fit.
Does anybody know if I should not fit the Dastek boost controller when using the Dawes?
Should I try to install them at the same time or one before the other? (I guess Dawes first so that I can adjust the fuelling through the Unichip to suit).

That's the problem, I would suggest that not many people have a PAY PAL account, so are stuffed.

How did the last group purchase work ? Who is going to order them ?

Last time we all sent cheques to Luke, he cashed them (can't remember when) and then sent the goods out to us. He included a small amount for customs duty and packaging and it came to £26 all in.

I have sympathy with the person that has to collate all these orders to be quite honest!

Re the STi - yes it will blow up if you get it wrong - as you know STis sometimes det even at standard boost on 97RON. With the bigger turbo you could easily be running way too much boost high up for the standard intercooler and mapping. Get your Unichip and the boost controller set up professionally by an experienced mapper. The advantage of the Unichip boost controller is that it gives you smoother boost on part throttle which may or may not be an issue on your car. It does this by having a duty cycle map for different engine speeds for the factory solenoid. Spool up will be a little slower than the Dawes. Speak to your Unichip mapper and discuss.

However, I would go for a Link on your car as the boost control is better than the current generation Unichip - although they are working on a 3D boost map for the Unichip using PID which should be the best yet.

Setting up a Paypal AC is easy, I set up one to transfer money when I bought a spoiler from someone in Holland. Easy, only took 5 mins and a valid credit card no.

The beauty of this group buy malarkey is that we may get them at a (slightly?) reduced price and this time, they will be ready configured for the Scoob. We can hopefully learn the lessons from the 'pathfinders' who participated in Lukes' group buy.

John,

Would a D/P be advisable with the Dawes unit.
Also I suppose I should be looking at Air?Fuel meter?

Cheers,

Rob.

John

I would be interested too but it seems I'm the only one with a P1. You'll probably remember I wasn't too happy with my RR figures at Star and wish to break the magic "300 BHP" mark. Considering that I've got a Mongoose ss exhaust system complete with D/pipe and B/box (3"bore I think) and a Blitz Induction Kit.

Will it be "safe" for me to got for the Controller and the AFR? i.e. It'll not turn into a Cossie which needs to be rebuild every 500 miles!?.

Please advise - all comments would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Gordon

AFR meter would help but I would also encourage a Knock Link on a P1.
