got back from Geneva yesterday, and the car is everything i could have expected. Build quality is of a £50k+ car and it looks even better in the flesh!!
Spec V detaiuls were very hush hush, i did get told they have started testing them, and we should see it set its offical ring time in October before its released to Jap market in dec 08/jan09. Simone, director of the GTR said if you think the normal gtr is hard and fast this thing will blow your mind, and he said it'll blow the 911 GT2 out of the spectrum!!
Went to Middlehurst on my way back from the airport and we dont know when the Spec V will reach UK as they are building 200 cars annually for the global market!! so I will be getting a Super Silver black edition GTR in Sept 09 when they come with Sat Nav and then trade/sell as soon as the Spec V is available, can't wait!!
Just uploading my pics from the show now so will post them later on

Why not get an import Spec V rather than buy what you don't want, lose money on it & then buy what you do want

he didnt say what they were looking to beat, just said its gonna blow the GT2away! I want the spec V, but with only 400 UK "normal" GTR cars anyway if i run the normal GTR for 6 months i'm not going to loose too much if any money at all and i want one sooner rather than later, so i can enjoy the thrill of the Black Edition and it will curb some of my excitement then be able to get the car i want as soon as i can have it which could be mid to later 2010. Just the sheer limited numbers make it uncertain as to when i can get it, this way i get the best of both worlds. With regards to an import i don't want to pay 70-80k for a car that will have no dealer back up should anything go wrong and also the whole Jap computer interface doesn't excite me and again i think it'd be even harder to get your hands on an import Spec V because they still only making 200 a year for the global markets.
good news is though that Nissan are building a centre on the Ring, so i'll be able to pick my car up from there and have some hospitality
Some pics from the show, sorry i' camera retarded and lack artistic imagination lol

Confirmed my order now on a Black Edition GTR in Super Silver
Tossed and turned over the colour choice, already have a EVO IX in white and its a bugger to keep clean, also the GTR white is kind of creamy and hides the definition of the body. Dark Metal Grey was my other consideration but looked a bit plain and i didn't like the stance of the DMG on the black edition wheels all looked very bland, Silver has the "pop" to it and think makes the car look classy and more mature plus for all other markets this colour is an option at extra cost so it must be worth it! 8 Layers of paint polished inbetween each layer

Yeah well EVO is white and maybe looking at keeping that now, with regard to the dark grey in the black edition with the black/darker wheels, the car doesnt really jump at me, its all a bit bland and kind of looks dirty, the silver really pops and the wheels contrast it all perfectly, just me andy when you see it you'll know i did right

What are the finance deals on these like? I'm guessing they're about £1k a month on PCP?
Considering putting my name down and then spending the next 12 - 18 months saving like a b*stard

Edcase, i'm told there will be 500 UK cars now, and Nissan are hoping to deliver these between March and September the dealer said i should expect a March delivery but i suppose there is no gaurentee. Best give you local Nissan HPC a call and see what they say.

John, also while you're here, on the Evo IX wastegate pressure should be approx 12 psi shouldn't it? I'm having a nightmare trying to calibrate and set up my EVC in order to flash my new Rom over
A few logs with the JDMMAP sensor shows mine is generally spooling to 14psi and on the EVC it shows 17 psi

Mine was showing about 10-11 PSI midrange, creeping up to 17-18 PSI at the top but this already had an exhaust on it.
Presumably you could test the EVC pressure read out by having it powered up and then using a pump with gauge to pressurise the sensor.
Also with disagreements between two sensors, check for leaks, restrictors that shouldn't be there etc.
Calibration I use for JDM MAP based on the service manual is 1.334x to give absolute readout in kPa. It is pretty close to AVC-R. I sold my EVC-V before I could do datalogging so never checked its accuracy.
You can also check the barometric pressure sensor reading vs JDM map vs EVC with ignition on, engine off.

Alloy, have you heard the news that Nissan will be allocating cars based on a "lottery" (their words) rather than the order in which deposits were taken? Or was that poor April Fools joke?
