As others have touched on i just cant get my head round the car and dont think i ever will. Other than folk for some strange reason feeling that they need to stay loyal to subaru, i just dont see whats good about the car.

I would rather they took all that crappy bollox stuff on the central console out (which will usually be left on Auto in any case!) and gave me nice tinted rear windows, front fogs and a low mounted spoiler like the tail of a classic wagon.

Fog lights (No clue why you need them) are an option for a little more. Window tinting can be done at the dealer. And the central console is very nice. What are you on about ? Are you wanting to save a few quid on buying a new sti ? I'm unhappy about the options (or luck of) offered by subaru UK compared to Euro versions, but there are limits, I think you're way over.

What I mean by Central Console is that there is a toy gadget which switches things .... pointless, utterly pointless. I suppose it is the 2008 version of the bright switch of yesteryear?

Fog Lights make the car look good!

Tints should NOT be an extra when they are supplied on a lower price car in the range (WRX)

The diesel may give good mpg, but who wants a noisy, oily rattler for an car - certainly not me.

45mpg means that your fuel bills are halved.

That's appealing ..... you lot get hot under the collar when fuel goes up 3% - imagine having an Impreza AND having a reduction in your fuel of 50%!!

Lets look at the numbers:-

12,000 miles at 22mpg = 2482 Litres of fuel = £2681 of Super at £1:08/Litre

12,000 miles at 45mpg = 1213 Litres of fuel = £1322 of Diesel at £1:09/Litre

£1359 a year in your pocket + much cheaper road tax.

Right, I'm wasn't actually bothered by the price, just by the luck of options. Why is there no sports pack for UK ??? And, hrm, diesel impreza ? I like this car too much to get a diesel version, isn't it counter intuitive ?

Read TG about the new Legacy Diesel. 16/20 can't be bad. Forester and then Impreza after that, oh by the way it's the smoothest and quietist on the market at the moment!

How can someone say that the car is made on the cheap, when the interior for the last 6 years has been the same. Now they release a totally new car with far more advanced features and interior.

Keep your gay starter button, and people that drive with the front fogs on need shot.

This is the start of a future legend...... wait until they start beefing it up a bit .....this is but the beginning of a beautiful future for the best looking car Subaru has ever made!

C'mon give the New Impreza a few years to develop it in the WRC. I beleive the GDE chassis will become superior to the GDB and GC8's. Plus this Impreza will become what the Ford Focus RS(Fwd) should have been, ''ALL WHEEL DRIVE''.

A diesel Impreza doing 0-60 in 7 secs and topping out at 140 is hardly Sti performance is it? Or even WRX come to think of it.

That diesel comment is a valid one ........ the diesel could save Subaru, if it's a performer and returning 60mpg!

As is the case after speaking to a dealer earlier today regarding p/x'ing my spec.D for a new STI. Won't be happening now considering the p/x ballpark figure I was given, so I'll just mod my car into what I want/should have been from the factory.

The Part/Ex prices for late STi's and WRX's are on the floor - where are the new buyers going to come from? Certainly not VW or BMW ... they want quality interiors.

Am I alone in thinking the windows should be tinted on the STi like they are on the WRX?

yes it should be, but it ain't

as I said earlier "Top Spec" or "Sports pack", name depending on where buying from. has Tints, 18" wheels, start button heated, heated wing mirrors, sat Nav, recardos.

There was claims from a "car warehouse" EU Top Spec STi,as above, was £24,995 which is the same price as the standard spec UK Car.

A lot of peeps will be amazed what "NOT" included in STD spec UK Car. IIRC UK not doing a TOP Spec but ecerything is optional extras like some JDM imports

I think the UK Dealers have a big problem then - and they know it too!

The UK cars should match what is available from the EU at the very least ..... no wonder my Dealer said that they will probably dump the franchise - after just 3 years!!

Come on Subaru UK - get fully equiped cars here and start shifting metal FFS!

AND STOP PENNY PINCHING FROM THE UK BUYERS!!!!!!!!!!
