That stands for me, too. But the truth is Hamilton IS the real deal. I'm not sure which is his greater talent, his driving or his attitude to racing and all the crap that has been thrown at him and McLaren recently.

What really does annoy me is the way that Hamilton (in Spain) and McLaren (by Italy/Ferrari) have been victimised recently, in a blatant attempt to distract them from the main task at hand. Can you imagine for a second that the Italian police and Ferrari would cooperate as McLaren has done in the last few days? Would they ****.

Richard.

PS Remember that it was a Ferrari employee that started all this fuss in the first place.

Good stats there, but you are talking about up to 1994. Ancient history in F1 terms. Since 1999 Ferrari have produced a car capable of wining the championship (tyres aside in 2005) whereas McLaren have been up and down - some good, some bad.

Last year was a transition year for Ferrari as the team was restructured and they didn't so much win the championship as McLaren lose it. This year however Ferrari will be stronger again and will probably be the team to beat although I don't think McLaren are far behind and love him or hate him Lewis is very special so who knows what could happen.

I don't undertsand where all these 'arrogant Lewis' statements come from - who cares if he shows a little arrogance, why shouldn't he? He is one of the best F1 drivers in the world and that is after just one season. Best of luck to him.

It does look like things improved for every team that Schumacher drove for, so it wasn't necesarrily that it was the Ferrari that improved, just that Schumacher was an immense talent, for example 1997 when Schumacher finished second, but Irvine in the sister car finished 8th in the championship.
