Having spent 6 months on a mountain being the only Army and with 9 RAF types there is hardly a truer statement then that quoted above.....Good Lads none the less

Having spent years studiously avoiding all things military, apart from annual meetings with a thing now called a weapon system, (which git added an extra half a ton to the damn thing). It constantly baffles me why anyone would enjoy being shouted at, marched around and have your weekends ruined by things called "exercises" (exercises should only happen between the hours of 8 till 5, Monday to Friday and preferably only in sunny climes).

You can imagine my surprise when I first came across a creature called a RSM, as far as i can tell they don't have a volume control, but a fantastic line in banter. Namely

"Sorry I didn't hear any of that, if you put your heels together ,I might be able to hear this time"

The cheeky git.

Wait til your Army, on an RAF camp with an RSM and SWO who don't get on. Us Army types take great pleasure pointing out that the RSM is still an RSM where ever he goes - the SWO is "just some random WO"

I still haven't got my sideies up and not going to - I've earnt them!

We find it fun the other way round particularly when undertaking a tedious driving course at Leconsfield, when you have RAF NCO's who have been in for 20 odd years, trying to be b*llocked by some random Army type who have been in for 2 mins and got their badges out of a cornflakes packet that morning.

Ah the joys of purple Ops.

Still i tend to behave like Sgt Wilson from Dads Army and tend to be left alone by both sides. . "What Sir ??? oh the chaps?? yes yes they're working splendidly thank you kindly for asking"

Diverting attention away from the rest of the family. He didn't dress up as Hitler, he just wore a **** uniform and a swastika arm band. And why not, he's a German decendent anyway.

I was in the army, long time ago, REME. I always used to have to bite my tongue after exercises, steam always used to pour from the sergeant's head. Cracked me up!

I think you'll find that neither of his parents are of German descent.

Well, Charles is, but it depends on how far back you want to go. Phil is a Greek isn't he? (well, Greek descent)

Geezer

I doubt very much that Wingnut is his father. James Hewitt looks more in the frame.

Have you got enough positive evidence to make a slanderous statement like that?

Well, I used to think that, but as he gets older, he is looking more and more like one of the Royals.

Prove that he is what? The son of Charles? Did you have to prove who your father was at any particular point? If you are challenging parentage , surely it is on your part to provide the proof.

Pictures/red hair prove nothing - For every picture of Hewitt and Harry having a passing resemblance, there is 10 of Earl Spencer and Harry having a much closer resemblance. I.e. he looks more like his uncle than his Father, and he is certainly not unique in that.

Of course I didn't have to prove who my father was because at no point did my mother ever suggest that he wasn't, unlike Princess Diana who was supposed to be convinced of the fact.

Its just like a lot of other rumours surrounding the Royal Family. Remember the stories circulating about Prince Charles prior to his marriage regarding the 'other woman' and then the rumours about varous dalliances of Princess Diana?

All of them were derided at the time as just that, rumours. The self righteous brigade got all hot and bothered until they were all proved correct.

Its not as if there's never been a cover up before. You only have to look at his recent tour to Afghanistan to see that.

Ah right - But covering up the fact that Prince Harry was serving in Afgahnistan is not at all mental and completely understandable.

Covered up implies, IMO, that there was some form of wrong doing here where quite the opposite is true. A temporary media blackout and on his safe return the full story.

Semantics. It doesn't matter what terminology you use, it wasn't widely known (to the general public) that he was there and I'm not questioning his tour to Afghanistan which was a good thing.

Are you saying that it should have been publicly known that a royal was going to a warzone?

No. I'm suggesting that it wasn't the first time that an event concerning a Royal has been covered up.

But you are the one to suggest that he has a different father and since you admit that you have no evidence to support that very unpleasant inference, you should hope that no one takes any action. It is certainly not up to me to prove different to what you said and I think that is also another thing you should be ashamed of.

Your attempt is no answer at all of course.

Do you really think that when he went out to Afghanistan to do his bit in a dangerous environment that it should have been fully publicised thus not only risking his life and those of his compatriots unfairly due to the obvious circumtances?

What kind of twisted logic is that?
