LOL, don't get too excited it's nothing special at the moment...
I need to spend some time working things out properly, as I am still not happy with the fuel lines and the way the dumpvalve sits. I have also got the intercooler to sort, so the project is far from done!!!
The main thing is that it is home and it runs with all the new mods on Andy F's Simtek base map... I had to laugh when he said he had set the boost cut to 0.5 bar and rev limited to 4.5K!!!

OK Kev and the gang, a quick update!!!
I have had this week off, trying to finish the 22B!!! Man has it been slow progress!!!
Anyway, most of the work got done yesterday at the Subaru garage (where 80% of the work has been done) and last night the car finally came home!!! Only problem was that I had set the fuel pressure to low (2.5 bar instead of 3.5 bar) so it was spluttering and farting like a good'un!!! A quick PM to Andy F sorted this mind (cheers Andy)!!!
So today I had a knock on the door and bloody hell, there was my Enersys ODYSSEY PC 680 lightweight battery which I had ordered on the Tuesday morning!!! I recommend these people highly - Active Robots - ODYSSEY Dry Cell Batteries - UK Sales
So, do I fit it do I not??? Ah bugger it, lets fit it!!!
So I set about the old acid crappy battery that had leaked and started to eat my nice ally STi battery holder!!!
Before...
Quick picture for anyone who has not seen the difference these things make!!! Believe it or not there is 10KG's separating these two!!!
So with the old battery out I gave it a bit of a spring clean...
The old battery clamp rods/bars had gone rusty, so I decided to get some stainless steel threaded rods and bend/cut them into some new ones!!!
I also cut the terminals off and crimped some nice new gold plated ones on...
This is the finished article...
While I was taking photos, I thought I would take some of the rest of the engine bay. Bear in mind it is far from finished!!!
New cold air induction kit...
MD321T...
TurboSmart Megasonic Dump Valve...
Fuelab Fuel Pressure Regulator and RCM Oil Filler Cap...
RCM Oil Catch Can...
Zero Sports Intercooler Duct/Splitter...
All we need now is this remap!!! 2 more sleeps!!!

You have been busy there ! it may pay you do keep a trickle chrger connected up when not in use with that small battery ?
I was looking at the Samco induction pipes earlier not the expensive turbo one but the one that fits between that and the air box, on RCM it's either SH038 or 036 ( I think it's SH036 for mine) is that worth doing on it's own on mine I wonder standard airbox is still on here.... do you think that would ease the flow at all or not worth doing without the turbo part ?

OK, we are back and it's mapped...
Andy Forrest is not only a brillant professional, but a friendly and informitive mapper... I recommend him 100% and can't thank him enough for his work...
So the results??? What can I say but OMFG!!! It now wheelspins in 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the wet and lets just say it's gonna take some getting use to!!! I have been in some fast Scooby's, but to finally own my own is something else!!!
Sadly all didn't go well, as it seems the fuel pump isn't working properly. Andy had to increase the injector duty of the 740's to 90+% at the higher revs as it was running lean. Luckily this hasn't hindered performance as the injectors had plenty of room to overcome the problem, however something I am going to urgently investigate.
So, all I need to do now is get the engine bay components properly bracketed up and sort out a larger intercooler and I will be up for this map tweak in May!!!
I will do more on the project again soon, once more things are done...

That on the whole is great news !!
Swirl pot time by chance ? get some new tyres on order soon
Very pleased to hear all the hard work has payed off well you just the one little bump and it should be easy enough to overcome, a bonus for Andy to be in the area soon for the small tweak as well Richy !!

Si, Andy F think's the fuel pump issue is being caused by the old twin pump setup which still remains in the fuel tank (from when the car was running 550 BHP when the last owner had it). One of the fuel pumps has been disconnected, but we think possibly fuel is getting back through the redundant pump.
Andy suggested contacting a breaker and getting a fuel pump cradle and a new walbro 255 l/hr pump and removing the twin pump setup from the tank. The single uprated pump shoud be more than capable of 450 BHP without the need of a swirl pot. This will also give me time to check the condition of the fuel hoses at the tank at the same time.
Not sure if you are interested, but these are some of the pics of the master at work last Friday...
Power leads and 'detcan' sensor attached...
Wideband Lamda Sensor put in the backbox...
Andy F sorting out the idle problems (who ever said you can't get 740's to idle properly???)...
Andy F starting the basic map...
Couple of arty shots (I do like my action shots, sorry Andy!!!)...

Cars looking great Richy. She's sure to be raising the bar for the club when she's finished. I've never actually seen it in the flesh, but hopefully you'll be at Japfest or another show this summer and i can take a sneak peek.

Yep I should be at most of the shows this year and Prodrive Open Day as it was ace last year...
I'm hoping to get it all done and looking good for the shows (maybe not Performance Car Action Day as it is nearly here), but sadly that is dependant on funds!!!
It does look like it's going to need some paint in the very near future too, but that's what you get with a 10 year old car I suppose!!!
I have promised myself the engine bay would be finished first, so if it looks like a bag of sh*t at the shows I appologise in advance!!!

OK, back on topic...
Right, not all has been going well in camp 22B!!! As you know the remap went fine and the car has been stunning since, however knocklink activity has been getting worse and worse!!! This kept happening until the point I couldn't go on boost at all without some sort of lights flashing at me...
Something was really wrong, so back it went into Mantles... They call me today and tell me I need to go and see them. I turn up to this...
Not very happy bunny at all!!! After assuming the car had a twin Walbro setup in it, it now seems it has a standard fuel cradle and a standard fuel pump!!! I have already contacted the previous owner who assures me it was sold with one in, so I am about to contact my tuner to find out where the f*cking twin pump setup has gone to!!! Yes I am p*ssed off if you hadn't guessed, not gonna let this one rest as I am asolutely fuming!!!
So anyway I give the go ahead to them to stick a the new fuel pump in and I am told it now has a new Walbro 255 l/hr fuel pump put back in on a new fuel pump cradle. However, this has now buggered up the 'on-boost' mapping which Andy F spent time and effort doing!!! Absolutely SWEET FA I can do until the mapping session in May!!! Well gutted...
Anyway, some good news came today!!! I got a phone call from my spray shop!!!
"Your Wilwood Callipers are ready..."
I took Si's advice and kept the callipers I had and sprayed them the colour I sooooooo wanted... The absolute dogs danglies springs into mind, especially now I have just dressed them with new stainless steel bolts!!! I've still gotta get some new bleed nipples, but you get the idea...
Can't wait to get them fitted...
