This is what I was thinking as I have never had a comms problem.

Gaz perhaps you could PM me the exact details of your problem & I will run it by Kent when I next speak to him.

Guys I don't want this Group Buy to unravel into a "Ah but you can get them cheaper here" or "I had a problem but 100 other people didn't" thread.

I am more than happy to spend a lot of time & trouble running this. However I am only a go-between. I am not doing it for love & certainly not for money. I will get the same discount as you. Only difference is you just have to sit back & reap the benefits & leave me to do the donkey work.

My Stealth Wagon is crying out for the Intercooler splitter & radiator shroud so my order will go in whatever the discount is.

I would think it should still work or you could simply move the nozzles to the best position.

Richy B are you going to run your splitter with the rubber skirt off the OE under tray? Or try it with just the metal lip of the Zero/Sport splitter sealing up to the face of the intercooler?

Mark,

We use a rubber sealing gasket at work that will probably be better than the OE rubber skirt. So I'm gonna fit the intercooler splitter first, look at clearances and then modify to suit. I am also changing the TMIC to an APS item, so the clearances may differ.

As for the intercooler water spray on my 22B, it doesn't look like this will fit on the zero sports splitter, so I am also going to modify this to suit. As you said earlier, I may even change the positioning to get the best out of them.

I will keep up updated,

Richy

Thanks Richy I would like to know how you get on.

I was thinking of using the OE rubber skirt but then found some oven door seal strip that may do a better job. Like you I will look at clearances and then modify to suit.

Right I have now fitted my intercooler duct!!! This really does look the dogs boll*cks and the quality is awesome. The weight difference is also very noticeable between the stock item and the Zero Sports item. Guess what, the intercooler water spray nozzles even fit, as Zero Sports have incorporated them into it's design!!!

I haven't refitted the intercooler yet as other work is being done, so I am still unsure about clearances.

Sadly I forgot the camera, so I will take some pics tomorrow when I next see the car...

Like you say this is a quality product. The bare splitter only weighs about 675 grams. There are pre-drilled holes for the water spray nozzles and for fixing the stock rubber skirt.

Come on be brave. You know you want to.

Will this help? Kent has sent me these on approval & to let you guys see the quality.

He checked my delivery details @ lunch time & they arrived the next day @ 3.00pm. So no comms problems there.

I have fitted the shroud which was a 5 minute job. I have check fitted the splitter & everything lines up & clears. I will fit it properly once the STi rubber skirt comes from the dealer next week as the clearances look right for it in my set up.

Very nice Mark...

I just want to say that the GC8 intercooler duct is very different to the MY03 version of it!!!

On the GC8 intercooler duct, it only has one fin and has no holes to put the standard skirt on it!!! The Zero Sports intercooler duct also has it's own metal skirt instead of the rubber OE skirt. I'm not sure if this is gonna be any good or if I'm gonna have to hack it, especially as I am putting on a MY99-00 APS TMIC... Fingers crossed hey...

A couple of camera phone pics I did on Saturday are below, these are crap compaired to what I will get on Monday...

The old and the new...

As the MY03 STi runs that great slab of a bonnet scoop which is both high & wide I guess the two fins design is essential in order to cover the taller opening.

This gives you a side view of what it has got to cope with.

Instead of a metal skirt mine has a 15mm deep lip that runs along one side only at the front & this has 7 holes in it which are presumably to help locate the rubber skirt.

That stock under tray just looks such a sturdy & heavy old lump of metal compared to the racing thoroughbred Zero/Sports one. I'm going to weigh my stock one minus the rubber skirt just to see the difference.

Is the APS TMIC a lot deeper than the stock one?

I was lucky that the STi one I put on was a straight forward swap for the WRX one. Even the spare mounting points for the wider body of it were already there.

As you have rightly said, I am hoping the depth is the only thing that is different and that the position to the intercooler duct is the same...

We will soon find out this week though!!!

I may still additionally want an intercooler splitter but upon closer inspection of my stock one it already comes with a splitter vane in it. Similar to the pics of the one posted by Flat Eric. Can anyone confirm that the JDM STI version has more vanes in it? I'll be adding my name should it be a real improvement.

Thanks.

The picture on the site is for illustration only as the JDM one is showing the same picture code as the WRX one [ZS-0306010]. The JDM one should be [ZS-0306011]

CLICK for JDM Intercooler Splitter page

How many vanes does your stock one have? Just the one? The STi one I posted up has two making a three channel flow.

Another bonus is there will be a weight saving over the stock item as the STi one only weighs 675 grams without the skirt. The stock thicker steel plate is considerably heavier & that weight is relatively high up on the car.

I'll give Kent a ring tomorrow to find out more.

Once we have enough names I will give the payment & delivery details. VAT has to be added. P&P will depend on numbers & size of items per order & if you want it "next day" or "standard". All subject to availability & stock levels.

Most things you need to know are on the web site. So have a look there first as that is where I will probably go to get the answers anyway.

I'm really sorry that you're running around on this one Mark. I'm actually in Japan for the next few weeks, hence can't ring myself. I have one splitter vane in my stock one. If the JDM STI one has 2 vanes and spaces for the water spray I'm in (I had considered bringing one back from ZeroSports here but they're bulky in the suitcase and I swear that'll be tempting the customs lot.

My car is currently for sale so no point in me adding "bling" for someone else. List updated.

Shouldn't be a problem Ian. It's 15% across the range regardless of numbers then 20% for 10 or more. Except for the shrouds which are 20% regardless of numbers as well. So should come out around £21.47 plus vat.
