if he could produce the receipt then i would be happy, because, as stated then the turbo will have been upgraded using proper parts.
However, he is still not replying to pm's and didnt send the receipt with the turbo.
starting to get a bit annoyed here

These turbos can be a bit of a lottery, after mapping a customers turbo which was similar to this (and achieving good results with it) I bought some of their compressor covers and wheels for evaluation. Out of 6 sets only 2 were within the tolerances of what I would accept as being capable of good power and reliability.
I still have 4 of these compressor covers and wheels here which are basically of scrap value to me now, I can't even put them on ebay as guaranteed they would come back to haunt me on a customers car that turns up for mapping.
So basically the turbo you have there may be fine, if it has indeed been built/passed by turbo dynamics then it should be ok.

yes if it has passed through turbo dynamics then i know it will be fine but there is no way of checking if there are no markings on the turbo.
and i dont really want to put a "lottery" turbo on the car tbh, would rather buy once buy right, as i thought i was doing.
is there any way of telling that the turbo has been worked on by looking at it?

LOL, Jamie never fitted the turbo he first bought, he bought the turbo that scoobysmiff posted on here, used it for a while then upgraded to a 321T and then sold the car and moved away from scoobys.
Not sure if he ever got a refund on the original turbo, i now have the other turbo ie the Harvey item and its producing the goods.
Any advice to be taken from this would be buy from a trusted source!
Sent jamie a text so you may find out about a refund lol

no refund given i cant even remember the guys name i bought it off and couldnt be bothered to look through all my old posts to find it again.
I sold the turbo on ebay and advertised it as a non original item, took a hit but at least i got something back for it.
As Stu says i then bought a proper 20G off scoobysmiff had that for a while then upgraded to a 321t and have now sold the car to a very happy customer
Thanks
Jamie
