funny idle??

should be screwed into the down pipe just behind your turbo.very easy to replace,just unplug the wire and unscrew the sensor.then just do your ecu reset i guess.

Just looked today in daylight and ........ my down pipe just has a bolt/bung in the hole where I guess the lambda sensor should be. I think the guy before me must have done this when he put the full decatted milltek system on and got it mapped. Can't see any wires that might lead to the old sensor connection.

Are there any solutions for my low/rough idle? The car has an induction kit, and bailey blow off dump valve..... could these be causing problems? Still have the originals to replace and I don't know if the car was mapped with these parts on

i would say its either a leaking dump valve or o2 sensor,more likely to be o2 sensor because ur car would most likely stall with a leaking dump valve.its worth a try,that was the problem with mine anyway

Is there some wiring with a connector plug on the end of it attached to a clip on the top of the gearbox? This could be you problem, that the car is running without a lambda sensor in the downpipe?

i defo know there is no lambda sensor, I'll have a look for the wiring and clip tomorrow, to dark for me out there... I get scared easily

So even with a decatted down pipe I should still have a lambda sensor? If I get a lambda sensor and fit it will it show a fault due to emission and need a new map?

It should have a lambda sensor fitted and should run more smoothly and be more economical and the lack of lambda will cause it to run rich.

Sweet, I''ve ordered a sensor, but it's one that you need to crimp on to the existing wires. Better get looking over the weekend!!

On the subject of running rich, my mate was sitting in the car the other day and gave the car some gas when I was outside and there was a smell of fuel from the exhaust. I guess that's what that means?

not sure, just a universal one online. are there any special ones I should get?

i haven't tried to fit it yet, as it hasn't arrived, wouldn't know what to connect it to as the existing sensor isn't there, and i don't know what the connector should look like if i did find it....... i suck at this!!!

It's a blobeye, 55 plate WRX. Like I said in previous posts, it's got a full decat and the hole for the O2 sensor on the down pipe just has a bolt in it.

Only thing is my Lambda sensor isn't there, just a bolt covering the hole. Think it was mapped with it out. I got a new lambda sensor today, I just need to find the connecting wires to hook them up to the new sensor. I'll be giving that a blast tomorrow.

I can make out a few wires near the down pipe so I'll check them out..... hopefully I'll get it sorted tomorrow. I'll keep you posted. Cheers for the advice.

im not actually sure if you need the mabda sensor in though. alot of people have got full decat exhausts that dont have a lambda sensor whole and cant really see people drilling holes in their exhausts. it might whats wrong though. if its running rich then thats a good thing lol means you go faster, who cars about petrol thats why you bought a scoob in the first place.

how does the car idle when hot and when cold?

very true! fuel economy ain't on the top of my list!!

The car idles fine when cold, when it's warm it idles ok too, just low, about 600rpm. Can you just adjust the idle speed somehow?

I have a Milltek system with a bung in the top of the downpipe, it isnt used as standard , its there to add an extra sensor. You have two sensors on your model, one is under the car, just after were the second cat would be, that just monitors cat performance and the second sensor,(o2), is just before the turbo up pipe. Take off your front right wheel and remove the service hole cover and you'll see it.

yeah you can adjust the idle speed but mark it before you muck around with it. when the car is cold it will often idle high as the car is trying to warm up, if your idle is set to low then the car will idle normal when cold then low when hot. if you look on the throttle body you will see a screw that is slightly holding the accelerator up. if you tighten this screw then the idle speed will increase. only do about half a turn to a threee quarters and see how it runs.
