Just out of interest who are you going to complain to, and what about specifically?

Well i've signed this and its a start.

Petition to: Remove the unfair and unjust retrospective Vehicle Execise Duty levy (back to 2001 year vehicles) as announced in the Budget on 12/3/08.

Thing is Pete in this country people whinge and moan and do nothing, if you do nothing then the goverment think its all ok, well its not.

If enough people said 'thats it' and took a stand, they would stand up and listen. If they thought they would be booted out of power because the 20 odd million motorists said enoughs, enough then they'd listen.

Anyone that says that doing this is wasting time is wrong, if enough people stand up then something would be done, i'll do it if i have to. but if you are happy with how things are stringing along with this taxation on motorists then great, if not then do something.

This is what happens when enough people get fecked off with getting screwed.....

I agree completely, the French, now there's a nation that know how to oppose something.

I think protesting and petitioning against something is good and proper if you oppose it - But It is absolutely vital to have all of your facts straight and to be complaining to the right people, otherwise you lose all credibility.

That takes the pi55, another tax on our pleasures!

It just encourages me to get some false plates, just drive around not paying anything, there are no police on the roads, so the cameras can take pictures all they like, ill have big sunglasses and a cap on, and the reg wont lead to me, so **** all will come back!

This will start to happen alot, espescially with foreigners or chavs!
i think your find people are doing it already!!!!!!!!!!!!!... but has you say who can blame them!

Every little scheme they think of to raise more revenue hidden as 'saving the feckin' enviroment'

We moan yet do nothing because we think we think that 20m motorists cant make a difference.

God this country is peeing me off!
Don't blame the country-we poor saps are the country, blame the dunderheads who unfortunately are in charge.

To be fair however, I can understand that woman's complaints if she lives that close to the motorway. Try standing at the distance yourself and see how loud it is, especially if the traffic is virtually non stop. We live next to a main road and that is bad enough.

Don't think it justifies reducing the speed limit on the motorway but the real answer is to reduce the council tax for the effects of the noise. Can you ever see a council doing that though, it may restrict their free visits for the councillors to their twinned town for a free holiday!

I think to get a decent number of people for some sort of protest, you need to get some of the Scooby Clubs involved.

We will storm Parliament and kick the current gov't out on their *****, then we will take over and systematically make this country great again by initiating a fair system for all aspects of life.

Lets face it to do this properly we need it to be a biggy!!!!

people from various clubs contact senior members or post on their own sites details of doing something, then aproach all relevant performance related car owners clubs/sites i.e. MLR, cliosport.net etc - and see if they will support this.

it needs to be huge for it to work - maybe some input from Webby, Scoobynetters that have organized big events i.e. Lord Harding etc.

Fair enough Chief and I feel exactly the same as you about those creeps you mentioned.

It is a matter of history that this lot have never liked the general public to have the personal freedom of owning a car. They hate us to be able to move around freely not under their control and I can see the title becoming true in the future if they ever get the chance. Until then they will continue to tax motorists unfairly to fill their great big holes in the economy which they have also all but destroyed.
