I once used Citylink to send a parcel to Athens for business. I had no idea how shocking they were. They managed to get it to Athens were customs demanded £400 to get the parcel through. I refused so they returned it to me for the princely sum of £250. When I queried it they said I shouldnt have used them.

So I dont. At all anymore.

DHL are as bad- scheduled a pick up on the Tuesday, didnt come. Rebook Wednesday, didnt come. It had to be there Friday so drove 30 miles out of my way to drop it off on Thursday. Their bill had charges for two failed pick ups and a charge for a pickup from a different address (which I had delivered to them!). To say I was livid was an understatement. They are in the process of taking me to court at the moment to try and recover monies.

They are all rubbish. UPS haven't been too bad yet but I suspect it is a matter of time!

we use TNT and probably down to normally always getting the same drivers whether a trannie van of a 7.5T truck they are really good.

However, they are both contractors and get paid per drop, so if they dont deliver they dont get paid, so they go the extra mile.

the drivers that dont care are the ones who are salaried and get paid the same whether they deliver or not,

imho

update, my parcel was loaded onto the van again today even though i specifically asked them not to deliver today, and as of 17:50, no sign of it, no-one has called, no card left. I did send an e-mail to scoobyworld advising them of the poor reputation of city-link, the reply i had was that citylink is the courier they have a contract with, but they will use parcelfarce (royal mail?) but cannot do next day delivery with them.

Citylink once left my £300 item in my next door's back garden, as I wasn't in.

Trouble was they posted the note (for me) telling me where it was, through my neighbour's door and the house was empty, and remained so for 2 months.

Luckily, it was put in the shed and I eventually got it after talking to around 7 different people who managed to get the div of a driver to explain his stupidity.

I've never once had a problem with any delivery from City Link

City-Link are no longer franchised.

Things are **** at work at the time being, having bought Target last year, the process of merging the two brands began, and they are now putting all the branches in together.

Disorganised chaos doesn't come close.

I've found royal mail/ parcel force to be the worst as i've had at least 7 parcels go missing over the last 2 years. When i phone them up they claim they aren't missing until after 25 days?

I worked for ups for a couple of years a while back and was shocked with what went on at the depot with the drivers. If an address was off the track (farm, etc) then some of the drivers would leave the parcel in the depot instead of delivering it as it would cost them time - this was an extra bonus on top of the basic wage.
Each stop was calculated in time from door to door and we were given 2 mins for the delivery. If the driver made the delivery quicker then the minutes were added up at the end of the day and this was converted into a bonus.

I actually prefer Citylink for one reason and one reason only.

It's the only courier company within 20 miles of me.

That's because you keep calling them names, Chris.

Had a delivery for a shop in Shiremoor yesterday. Next day delivery, get until half five to deliver it.

Walks in at about half twelve with it, bloke standing at the door says;

"I wish I had a watch like your's, funny pre 10.30 this is."

Me, "Next day delivery, mate. I'll bring it back at 5 o'clock if you want."

Moral of the story, don't shoot the messenger. Even if it's paid for a premium delivery, it's not going to happen if it isn't booked as one.

well, they loaded the parcel onto the van 3 times, and took it back to the branch 3 times, never actually attempted delivery though, so i went and collected it........i really really wish i took a camera, the reception is appalling, filthy dirty with cobwebs everywhere, it almost looks abandoned, they are obviously a very cheap courier sacrificing service for low prices, it cost me about £15in fuel for a 60mile round trip to collect mudflaps ffs.

We used Parcel Force to deliver boxes of fresh flowers all over the UK by 1030 next day including Saturdays - they never ever failed us and they never damaged a single box as we used to phone up the recipients. All our boxes carried a large "Thank you" to the Parcel Force staff which seemed to do the trick.

I use regularly First Class post and their guaranteed next day services and -again - never ever had a failure.

We had a bonnet delivered by DHL a few days ago...

It was L shaped..
Folding the thing in half to get it in the van was not the brightest idea in the world now was it..
Cheers you bunch of heavy handed fcukwits!

Our citylink (see I can say it without swearing) driver is well bling man he has the biggest diamond earings I ever seen with matching rings etc, but he is really cool and always has a chat about stuff and my scooby...or as he puts it " thats well wicked man, its well sick " god knows what he means, I think he means its quite good

anyway had a go at him today about being late and he just sucked his teeth and said " yeah man, its not my fault "

bless him, if he wasnt such a nice guy I would deck him
