Coach or train scotland to cornwall.
that'll be a few changes on the way then, with luggage, image if two or more are travelling.

i would estimate the cost of coach at around £ 100.00, train £ 150.00
flying would be cheaper and, ironically worse for the enviorment

I don't mind flying or coaching but i dont think Gav will want to drink the same amount of vodka as a plane uses fuel either.

The point i was trying to make was Gav reckons Vodka is expensive at £14 per litre and fuels cheap at £1.xx per litre. Im just saying we all use ALOT more fuel than Gav will drink Vodka. So its not really a good comparison.

my trucks deliver for tesco and we have a **** of huge tank here, we pay less then at pumps but we also have 300 wagons running a day.

You must walk to work and buy posh Vodka at Harrods. That's not true for many of us I'm afraid.

The point is though, you don't have to buy petrol if the price bothers you that much. If your job requires you to use a car, get a different job etc. People assume that buying petrol is a requirement in this day and age, when really, it isn't.

And i take it you live within walking distance of your work? Mcdonalds by any chance??

Either that, or someone who never leaves the boundaries of their town/city with an annual mileage of 2-3000

The majority of us do need to drive to work pal, so yes petrol is a neccessity. I have a 90 mile drive every day to work, if i swapped jobs, i'd drop about £25k in income. Simply not an option.

Petrol only 6mths ago was 90p litre, now its £1.07. An extra £10 or so a fill up, if you fill your tank once every 3 months or so then it's hardly something to complain about. (I guess this is you) but if you're filling on a weekly basis it's an extra £520 per year. Emphasis on extra!!

So yes assumptions are right. God knows how anyone survives without a car, how would you do a weekly shop for 1? I guess you'll respond with a number 18 bus of course

Nick a new caravan and park up wherever you like - sorted!!

Prob just as well mate! Low post count and similar views to another here who HATES whingers who dont know they have ever had it so good...!

Actually I hope the tax dividend from fuel price increases goes to buy some nice ramekin dishes to furnish an MP's third home in London, and that the VAT on my pensioner parents now MASSIVE fuel bills buys some nice handmade flock wallpaper from Tibet for its study! Also I think that MP's are able to claim 100% of their costs of travelling to work, as opposed to us only the income tax element back - but I digress

Heres an interesting story on why there are even fewer fuel stations than ever, despite the massive increases in prices.

Make even more profit? Last time I checked BP were making something like £1m profit every minute of every day.
