Any way back to your original point
… my best mate has a vx and he is looking to change as he finds it just to unusable great in the summer but to unpredictable and unpractical. The joy of a Scooby wrx or sti
is lots of easy to use power… any weather, road conditions etc I once read in evo they did a shoot out with a few super cars and a WRX and they said that it had no issues keeping up in the roads around Monaco , they may not be the fastest cars but they are very drivable and fun all year … Evo also preferred the wrx over the sti

F1 CJE UK,
The wrx and the sti engines are like chalk and cheese, different injectors, turbos, headers, turbos, internals, open v semi closed blocks etc.
Considering my last car was pushing 316bhp with a panel filter and just running optimax/octane booster (consitantly running that figure btw
) on the JDM map, and over 330lbs of torque, pulled from 1500rpm up to the red line and was very tuneable due to the stronger parts used (gearbox is good for a nice 450+lbs of torque for example, same with the clutch) your on for an expensive time even getting a wrx near to that.
If your going to modify above 300bhp with a wrx, buy the STi, if you want to lightly modify and like a nice daily driver with some umph but not too harsh, get the wrx.
That 5k initial difference is worth the cost if your keeping the car for some time![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Oh and have a read of what mods he did to get that bhp, hes running a TD05-20 turbo to start, but thats about as far as you want to push a wrx tbh.

370BHP is A hell of a lot power for a daily driver….. I was never saying that it’s a better way of going about getting a fast road car…. But it is possible and its also not as expensive as people make out. I have really enjoyed the tuning process and at 22 when I bought my wrx brand new insurance and initial cost would have made it imposable to get a sti. This time next mouth I will be running 370 with big 6 pot Ap brakes and loads of other tweaks and I am still below or around the cost of an sti. vs. a standard sti or even a PPP then my car will be considerably faster both road and track and most importantly for me it’s the journey to get to this point.
Think we will have to agree to disagree I am very happy with my car and all the work that Zen has put into it so far
