The FMIC update I spoke of for any interested parties that haven't already seen it.

To be honest the FMIC does not appeal very much to me, especially on the safety front, and from what I have seen the TNIC is good enuff for quite a few BHP.

yes the top mount might run certain bhp, but the whole point is the top is a very bad position for something doing cooling.

the top mount will suffer on hot days, now matter how big it is

why not spend the remap money on handling mods? arbs, alk, etc.
when you have the money for the big power upgrade the chassis will handle all that power a lot better
like someone always say, you will be faster from A to B if you have a good chassis rather than just power... ( if it's a twisty course )
Right Graham????

Well I have the front and rear STi strut braces, and now I'm thinking of the anti-roll bars (front and rear too).

But an extra 20-25 BHP would do no harm, and with the torque increase it would make driving around in 5th gear even better, and it would probably use less fuel too.

at least change the backbox and do a centre decat because then you'd be at the ppp level (plus a little) which is good. A centre decat is only about 50 quid used. A used PPP back box can be had for about 100 quid, i think.

yes..

STi with PPP went from 298 to 340bhp.. no thoer changes
257bhp from a 2.0 WRX, can't remember if fully standard or if just backbox changed.

WRX 2.5 today with just backbox and centre change showed big improvement.. no figures though sorry..

it's not all about peak figures though

any updates?

keeping the stock catted downpipe, but fitting a decat up pipe and centre pipe, back box, new turbo ( vf30/vf34/vf35 or a bigger 18g!!!!????? ), injectors, fuel pump and remap will be any good?
think the stock tmic will be ok, because this update might get about 300 bhp? maybe???!!!!
what about the panel filter? should it be replaced with a green or k&n one? ( don't want to damage another maf )
want to keep the stock downpipe due to MOT and cops.

just thoughts...

Ditch the stock downpipe mate -terribly restrictive and will restrict power and impair tubro spool!!

You can get a sports cat one for £299 from Scoobyworld (the Ninja) and avoid MOT worries.

if I do to my car what you have done to yours ( the first stage ), I think I also need to change the injectors, the tmic will be ok? it's a my02 wrx.

I think the 02 WRX has 380 injectors, if so they'll need to go for 440s. The STi incooler would be a good upgrade for you.

I've gone from autobahn fmic to sti top mount, and even though the car's not mapped for the sti intercooler yet, off boost driveability is a lot nicer. It just feels like pickup is a lot better (IMO). Don't know abuot charge temps or outright power available from both, but so far I'm happy
